Apple plans to introduce a new model this year to replace the iPhone SE series. According to rumors, this series known as “SE” will be replaced by “iPhone 16E”. Digital Chat Station, a well-known source of technology leaks, revealed some important details of the device in a post on Weibo.
iPhone 16E comes with a LTPS OLED screen that offers 6.06 inches of FHD + resolution. This screen, with a 60 Hz refresh rate, offers a modern and familiar look with its notched design. The device has an angular frame made of metal, like recent iPhone models. The device, whose overall design resembles the iPhone 14, aims to win the appreciation of users by offering a solid and stylish structure.
Powered by the Apple A18 Bionic chip, iPhone 16E promises high performance. It will also offer secure facial recognition thanks to Face ID technology. This means the physical Home button will be removed from the device. On the camera side, it will appear before users with a single rear camera. However, the device will have water resistance feature.
Smart Pikachu, another leak source, stated that the device will use Apple’s own developed baseband chip for 5G connection. This innovation aims to reduce Apple’s dependence on external suppliers such as Qualcomm.
