Huawei’s new smartwatch Watch D2 that can track blood pressure will be introduced soon

Huawei’s next-generation smartwatch, the Watch D2, is finally getting ready to see the light of day after long-standing rumors. According to the latest information on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, this new wearable device, which will be the follow-up to the Watch D, which went on sale in Turkey early last year, has managed to obtain a medical device license in China. This license indicates that the device meets all legal requirements and has passed official inspections in order to be sold as a medical device in China. Although the official name of the device has not yet been confirmed, the fact that it is described as the “Wrist-Based Ambulatory Blood Pressure Recorder” indicates that this device is the successor to Huawei’s previous model, the Watch D.

The license covers three different model numbers (LCA-B10, LCA-B11, LCA-B12). This suggests that Huawei is planning to offer multiple variants in the same series. While there is not much information about the design and features of the Watch D2, leaked information confirms that the device will include a main unit, a wristband, and a wireless charging base. In terms of features, it is estimated that the Watch D2 will be able to track both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and for users aged 18 and above, it will be able to measure heart rate. This indicates that the device’s health tracking capabilities may be improved.

Rumors that the Watch D2 could be introduced alongside Huawei’s Mate 70 flagship phone are also drawing attention. The simultaneous release of these two devices showcases Huawei’s efforts to create synergy between wearable technology and mobile devices. It is thought that the Watch D2 could also meet users, especially with the release of the Mate 70.

The previous model, the Watch D, had a rectangular design and stood out with its 1.64-inch AMOLED screen. The device stood out with its health-focused features such as blood pressure monitoring and ECG analysis. Although it is not yet clear what the Watch D2 will add to these features, Huawei is expected to extend battery life, improve the design, or offer completely new health monitoring technologies in the new model. Huawei may be aiming to offer its users a more comprehensive experience with this new step in health monitoring.
