Huawei’s first tri-fold phone to be introduced as Mate XT

Huawei will be unveiling its first tri-fold smartphone this month. Although the phone in question has been leaked over the past few months, its name has not been mentioned in any of the news. The expected announcement regarding the name has arrived. The tri-fold phone will be introduced as Huawei Mate XT. The statement on the subject was made by Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO and President of Smart Automotive Solutions Business Unit Richard Yu.

According to Richard Yu; Mate XT is the most innovative and disruptive product Huawei has ever produced. He stated that thanks to five years of insistence and investment, the dreams seen in science fiction movies have become a real product. It was emphasized that the device represents the peak of Huawei’s technological accumulation and has a design and functionality that its competitors have not yet reached.

The design and configuration details of the Mate XT have not yet been fully revealed. However, according to leaked information, the device will have three foldable screens, which will be foldable inward, foldable outward, and have a dual hinge design. This innovative structure will allow the device to reach a screen size of about 10 inches when fully opened, and there will be a centrally placed punch-hole camera on the left side. The device can be used with a pen, providing a tablet-like experience, significantly improving office productivity.

Despite the Mate XT’s complex design, the device is expected to strike a perfect balance in thickness control. The device is expected to be around 5mm thick when opened and around 15mm thick when folded, making it quite thin and easy to use. The rear camera setup is expected to be a circular, centrally located module like the Mate 50 series, with a Parisian spike design around the camera.

It is stated that the Huawei Mate XT will be powered by the Kirin 9 series platform, which will offer high-end performance and advanced features. The device is expected to be introduced in China in September, but it is not yet known when it will be available in the global market.

Huawei to introduce other products along with Mate XT

Huawei will introduce the Mate XT and other new products at its event on September 10. At this event, products such as the Huawei Nova 13 series, new smartwatches, Zhijie R7 and Wenjie M9 five-seat version are also expected to be introduced.
