Galaxy S26 Ultra passed the bend test without any damage

YouTuber Zack Nelson, i.e. JerryRigEverythingSamsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra put the model to the classic durability test. Scratch, heat and bending tests gave important clues about the device’s screen, camera design and body material. Test results show that there may be minor improvements compared to the previous generation, especially on the screen durability side.

The tests Nelson applied in the video consist of standard methods for measuring smartphone durability. The screen is scratched according to the Mohs hardness scale, the panel is exposed to heat, and in the final stage, the body is forced to bend.

Also in the test, Samsung’s new privacy display feature is also examined. This technology aims to increase privacy by making the screenshot invisible from side angles.

JerryRigEverything publishes Galaxy S26 Ultra durability test

In the first part of the durability test, Nelson scratches the screen with different tips on the Mohs hardness scale. Smartphone screens usually show light scratches at level 6 and deeper marks at level 7.

Galaxy S26 Ultra screen also follows the same thresholds. However, Nelson says Level 6 scratches are less noticeable than on previous models. Device Corning Gorilla Armor 2 It uses glass. Nelson notes that Corning may have made a minor improvement to the glass coating.

at the bottom of the screen fingerprint reader is also examined in the test. After applying level 7 scratches, Nelson retests the sensor and shows that the reader continues to work.

In the test, the display panel is exposed to a lighter flame for approximately 20 seconds. After this process, there is no permanent damage to the panel.

On the back, there is a small design change in the camera module. On the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the camera rings were glued directly to the body and could easily come off in tests.

Galaxy S26 Ultra camera rings is separated in different ways. The rings come off with the glass protecting the lens when force is applied. This design can make it possible to replace the part in one go when the camera glass breaks.

On the body side, Samsung is in this model aluminum frame is using. Compared to the titanium frame in the previous model, this change raised a question mark in the minds of some users.

In Nelson’s bending test, the phone suffered from two aspects. There is no serious bending or breakage in the body. The device maintains its form throughout the test.

In the last part of the video, Nelson’s new privacy display shows its feature under the microscope. According to measurements, the visibility angle of the screen in maximum privacy mode is approx. to 45 degrees is falling. When the feature is off, the image is approx. 80 degrees can be seen up to the angle.

When privacy mode is active, the screen brightness decreases noticeably. For this reason, some users may notice the screen appearing darker, especially outdoors.

JerryRigEverything video Galaxy S26 Ultra durability test presents the results in detail. In the test, the screen glass, camera module and aluminum frame are evaluated together. The Privacy Display feature also shows that it does not create an additional weakness in terms of durability.
