Galaxy S26 Edge will carry larger batteries with the examination case

New information about the Galaxy S26 Edge model, which is expected to introduce in the beginning of 2026, has emerged. In this model, especially in areas such as battery capacity and device thickness, significant changes are made. The Galaxy S25 Edge, which was released in 2025, was criticized with a 3,900 mAh battery despite its stylish appearance. The inability to give the desired performance in daily use caused users to experience dissatisfaction.

The new leaks show that the Galaxy S26 Edge will have a thinner body and contain a larger battery. Although these two features normally seem to be opposite to each other, Samsung may have developed new solutions in hardware settlement and energy technologies. In particular, while increasing the battery capacity, it requires serious engineering studies to reduce the thickness of the device. For this reason, a brand new battery structure may be preferred in S26 Edge.

Samsung aims to provide a longer battery time by maintaining fine design with Galaxy S26 EDGE

The reliable Chinese source Ice Universe says Galaxy S26 Edge will be even thinner than the S25 Edge. S25 Edge’s 5.8 mm body was already one of the finest phones of the segment. The fact that this measure will be below means a significant change for both design and internal component placement. However, signs that the battery will have a higher capacity indicate that the battery technology used has changed.

The new model seems to be likely to use new generation battery technologies such as silicone-carbon. Such batteries can store more energy than traditional lithium-ion cells and take up less space. Samsung’s patent history and previous research shows that it has been preparing for a long time in this field. Despite everything, the company has not yet made a clear explanation of this technology.

The capacity of the battery to be carried by the Galaxy S26 Edge is not yet finalized. However, considering the battery duration of the S25 EDGE frequently, a significant increase in this area is expected. Extending battery life requires not only hardware but also software optimizations. Although Samsung’s One UI interface has been criticized from time to time, it is known that improvements have been made in the latest updates.

The new model is expected to be introduced in January 2026 with the Galaxy S26 and S26 Ultra. The tradition of introducing Samsung’s flagship series in the first quarter of the year supports this expectation. The S26 Edge’s replacement of the Plus model in the S series S series seems to continue. Thus, the device plays an important role in both hardware and positioning.

It is thought that the thinning process on the device will not only be limited to the external appearance and that there will be changes in screen and chassis materials. Thanks to the thinner screen panels and the optimized component placement, the internal volume may be used more efficiently. This makes it possible to open space for larger batteries. In addition, the screen is expected to be efficient for energy consumption.

Other technical details are not known for now. Information about hardware such as processor preference, camera arrangement and connection features is not shared. However, the growth of the battery may be planned to better meet the energy needs of these components. Samsung, both battery time and performance is trying to keep in balance.

While the Galaxy S26 Edge is thinning in terms of design, its growth in terms of its use reflects a change in Samsung’s engineering approach. The device is shaped with focus on improving the battery time that directly affects users’ daily experience. In this way, the points where the S25 Edge is missing is expected to be compensated. With the upcoming launch date, this information will become clear.
