Samsung’s next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, is expected to come with significant upgrades, especially on the camera side. It is said that the device, which is claimed to maintain its four-camera structure, will have improved resolution and sensor size of its telephoto and ultra-wide-angle cameras. As of today, technical details about the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s ultra-wide-angle camera have been leaked.
According to information shared by reliable source Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the S25 Ultra will come with an improved ultra-wide camera. It is stated that the device will use a 50 MP camera sensor with a 1/2.52-inch optical format, 0.7µm pixel size and F1.9 aperture. These features are quite similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 50 MP telephoto camera, but it is not yet clear whether it is the same sensor.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s ultra-wide camera is expected to include an autofocus mechanism to enable closer focus for macro shots. It is also expected to be able to record 4K 60fps and 8K 30fps video, similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 5x telephoto camera. This suggests that the device will take its video shooting performance to the next level.
According to previous reports, Samsung is also expected to upgrade the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s telephoto camera. The new flagship device will allegedly feature a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization (OIS). With such a powerful upgrade, it is expected that the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s cameras will meet industry standards for several years to come.
Galaxy S25 Ultra to come with 200MP main camera
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to retain the 200MP main camera like its predecessors. Other updates include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and design improvements with rounder corners. It is also likely to feature improved Galaxy AI features and the One UI 7.1 software.
