The lawsuit states that under the founding agreement, OpenAI will make its code available to the public rather than locking it up for the profit of any private company. But Musk claims that OpenAI and its top executives “set fire to that deal” and “perverted” the company’s mission by adopting a close relationship with Microsoft.
The lawsuit includes the following statements: “OpenAI has been turned into a de facto closed-source subsidiary of Microsoft, the world’s largest technology company. Under the new Board of Directors, the company is developing a general artificial intelligence. However, he does this to maximize Microsoft’s profits rather than for the benefit of humanity.
