Samsung recently announced that it would bring the Circle to Search feature, which it developed with Google, to the mid-range Galaxy A series devices. The company has now added music recognition to Circle to Search. Thus, it is now possible to use Circle to Search like Shazam.
The feature in question comes to Samsung’s Circle to Search supported devices or version 15.32.37.28 of the Google app. At this point, it is worth remembering that Circle to Search is based on the Google app. However, it is not necessary to have the mentioned version of the Google app to use this feature on Samsung devices.
This is likely a server-side change by Google, and it will take some time for the company to make the change to every Samsung device that supports Circle to Search.
Samsung phones with Circle to Search support will also recognize humming songs
Those who have the feature will see a new button with a note on it when they activate Circle to Search. Tapping this button will allow you to learn the name of the song playing on the device or nearby. The feature also works while singing or humming. It is worth noting that these features are already available in the Google app.
It remains to be seen how this will affect Shazam usage on devices that support Circle to Search.
