Circle to Search is rolling out to Android phones other than Google and Samsung

The Circle to Search feature, which was first introduced in 2023, allows you to perform a visual search using the Google Search engine and Google Lens by circling anything on the screen. The feature has only been available on select Samsung devices and Google’s Pixel phones since its introduction, but that’s about to change.

According to reports, Tecno confirmed to some tech reviewers that the feature will be available next month on its newly announced foldable phone, the Tecno V Fold 2. This means that Google is planning to bring this Pixel and Samsung-exclusive feature to other phones as well.

Although this news does not come as an official statement from Google, it is considered a pretty strong confirmation. Moreover, the rollout of the feature is expected to start in October.

Circle to Search stands out as an innovative feature that allows users to quickly search for objects on their phone screen. This function, which makes users’ visual search experience more practical, provides great convenience especially in product and information searches. This feature, which was initially offered only to Pixel and Samsung phones, is part of Google’s long-developed Lens technology.

Expansion begins for Circle to Search

Tecno’s announcement that it will integrate the Circle to Search feature into its new model indicates that this innovative technology will be offered to a wider range of users. Especially in this period when competition in the foldable phone market is increasing, the Tecno V Fold 2 is expected to attract more attention with this feature.

It is anticipated that the feature will not be limited to Tecno and will be available on devices from different manufacturers. This decision by Google could contribute to the further expansion of visual search capabilities in the Android ecosystem. For users, this means an improved search experience not only on high-end devices but also on a wider range of phones.
