Chatgpt can be the default assistant of Android users

OpenAI has released a new update that makes Chatgpt more useful for Android devices. The latest beta version of the Android application (V1.2025.070) offers users the option to set Chatgpt as a digital assistant assumed to be the assumed digital assistant instead of Google’s Gemini assistant. This change shows that the competition between artificial intelligence -based assistants increased in the Android ecosystem, while offering users a different experience. Although Chatgpt’s new ability is interesting, it brings some important shortcomings with its advantages.

Users who identify Chatgpt as the default assistant can start this assistant in different ways. Long -pressing on the home screen key, shift from the screen corner or long pressing to the power key, while Google Gemini offers the “Hey, Google” voice command cannot be used for Chatgpt. On the other hand, the lack of voice command support can be considered as an important deficiency for users with strict bond with Google ecosystem. In addition, Chatgpt is started in voice mode and allows users to interact with artificial intelligence.

You must be ready to interrupt with Google Services

Choosing ChatGPT as a digital assistant offers some advantages for users, while Google services greatly reduces integration. Checking Google Home devices, changing phone settings, music playing or adding activities to Google Calendar, Chatgpt cannot be used when preferred. However, basic operations such as alarm setup and reminder adjustment can be performed through the chatgpt application. This is a critical decision point for users with different priorities in terms of the possibilities offered by digital assistants.

Determining the Chatgpt as the default assistant on Android devices is a simple process. Users can go to the Settings menu of the phones and select Chatgpt in the “Applications> Default Applications> Digital Assistant Application” section. When this selection is made, the ship will automatically disable and can only be used as a digital assistant.

In addition, the fact that Chatgpt’s voice chat experience is not as advanced as text -based mode may affect the user experience. Many users expect response to voice assistants with a certain accuracy and fluency. ChatGPT is much more effective in text -based responses, while voice mode is not yet as advanced as a ship. On the other hand, since the development of artificial intelligence -supported assistants is progressing rapidly, it can be thought that OpenAI can offer a better experience in the future voice mode.

Chatgpt’s ability to work without being connected to Google services can be seen as an advantage for users who want more control in privacy. Google assistant provides personal experiences by collecting user habits, while CATGPT provides a more generalized experience. However, users who do not want to renounce the deep integration advantages offered by Google Assistant should carefully evaluate these differences before moving to Chatgpt.

As a result, which digital assistant will be preferred will vary depending on which features of the user prioritizes. While users who want an integrated experience with Google services continue to use Gemini, those looking for an artificial intelligence -based more advanced chat experience can choose Chatgpt. While both assistants offer different advantages, this new move of OpenAI gives an important clue to the future of artificial intelligence assistants at the Android ecosystem.
