Blackmagic Camera iPhone app updated with new features

Blackmagic Design has updated its popular application Blackmagic Camera with version 2.1 to improve the video shooting experience on iOS devices. This update stands out with its prominent features, especially for users with the iPhone 16 model. Designed to provide users with easier access to professional shooting tools, this update includes functional features such as new Camera Control support. With the update, Blackmagic Camera aims to make the video shooting process more user-friendly while offering iPhone 16 users the opportunity to use the hardware opportunities offered by the device more effectively.

Version 2.1 of Blackmagic Camera gives users the ability to open the app directly from Control Centre, Lock Screen or from the iPhone’s Camera Control pane. Thus, the application’s opening time is shortened and it can respond faster to instant video shooting needs. This stands out as an important step, especially for content producers and those who want to quickly upload content to social media platforms by shooting videos. While the access options of the application have been increased, its use has also been made more intuitive.

Another striking feature of the application’s update is its ability to connect with DockKit compatible devices. With this update, more stable images can be recorded while on the move by compatibility with advanced gimbal accessories such as Insta360 Flow Pro. This feature is seen as an important innovation for users who do not have access to professional equipment but do not want to compromise on image quality. Gimbal support contributes to a smoother image flow with mobile devices by minimizing negativities such as shaking in moving shots. Especially for vlogging and action scenes, this advanced compatibility improves the user experience.

Blackmagic Camera expands high-quality recording possibilities

Expanding the possibility of high quality recording, Blackmagic Camera 2.1 introduced new high bitrate options for H.264 and H.265 formats. These options allow users to keep the file size lower when shooting in high resolution.

iPhone users can now shoot high-quality videos by using storage space efficiently, without the need for ProRes format. This feature is especially useful for users who want to use device storage capacity more effectively during long-term shooting. Creating files that take up less space without compromising the quality of video footage provides advantages in terms of both device performance and data storage space.
