Asus officially introduced the new member of the Zenfone series, Zenfone 11 Ultra. Unlike the smaller Zenfone models of the past, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is a device with “ultra” dimensions and features, as its name suggests. This model, which stands out with its 6.78-inch screen and large battery with a capacity of 5,500mAh, is offered to users abroad with a starting price of $899.

The new favorite of game lovers: Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra

While Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra inherits the gaming-oriented design of the ROG Phone 8, it follows a different path by not including gaming lights. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, this model comes with a 12GB RAM / 256GB ROM basic configuration. Outside the US, the 16GB/512GB model will also be available. Like previous Zenfone models, in the US the Zenfone 11 Ultra will not work on Verizon, only AT&T and T-Mobile networks will be supported.

Zenfone 11 Ultra’s LTPO screen can reduce the refresh rate to 1Hz to save battery life. While gaming, the refresh rate can go up to 144Hz; but this is generally limited to 120Hz at most. The 50-megapixel main camera is supported by an f/1.9 lens and comes with Asus’ impressive six-axis stabilization, a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 32-megapixel 3x telephoto lens with stabilization.

There are a few familiar AI features for 2024, like live language translation and two-way noise cancellation for phone calls. AI can summarize voice memo transcriptions, and search functions for photos and system settings have been enhanced with AI.

Asus’ global smartphone director, Chih-Hao Kung, was vague about whether this is the shape of the new Zenfone at a media briefing where the phone was introduced. Emphasizing that Zenfone 10 was launched in the second half of last year and is still on sale, Kung said, “For this moment, we do not have any comments on this issue… This launch focuses only on the large-sized Zenfone 11 Ultra.”

While we hold out hope for a smaller Zenfone 11 arriving later this year, big phone lovers can pre-order the Zenfone 11 Ultra starting Thursday. The device will start shipping in early April. As in recent years, we do not expect to see this Asus Zenfone model in Turkey.
