With the iOS 18.4 update, Apple is preparing to offer an artificial intelligence -supported feature that analyzes and summarizes user reviews at the App Store. This new feature, which is currently open to everyone, will be supported by Apple’s own artificial intelligence technology Apple Intelligence. The system will examine the user reviews left about applications and games and create a brief summary of the most important information.
Apple aims to make it easier to understand the reviews in the App Store, especially together. These summaries, which will be created using large language models (LLM), will be updated weekly and will be presented only for applications that have received enough examination. However, Apple did not share any clear information about the minimum number of comments required to create a summary.
Apple’s new artificial intelligence feature will enable users to have faster information about applications on the App Store. Users will be able to get an idea by reading the summary paragraph created by artificial intelligence, rather than examining individual comments to read the general assessment of a particular application. These summaries aim to provide an overview of the pros and cons of the application.
In the event of an error in the summary, users will be able to notify Apple by pressing the relevant text. Applicants will be able to share their feedback on this feature with Apple through App Store Connect.

However, this new feature brings the risk of abuse. Some developers in the App Store are concerned that they can use false comments to manipulate artificial intelligence summaries. Fake positive examinations created by boots or paid commentators may cause the application to look better than it is. Such false assessments are already known as a common problem on many platforms.
