Apple starts mass production for iPhone Ultra at the end of July

New information continues to come about Apple’s foldable iPhone model, which has been on the agenda for a long time. According to new news, the company is preparing to start mass production of the iPhone Ultra in the last days of July. Thus, the uncertainty that emerged in recent weeks following the claims that the device was delayed was once again denied by different sources. Current information shows that Apple may announce its new model along with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at the event expected to be held in September.

Recently, conflicting news about the development process of the iPhone Ultra has come to the fore. While some sources claimed that the launch schedule was postponed due to technical problems in the hinge design of the device, soon different industry sources argued that these claims did not reflect the truth. The latest news from South Korea also supports the second view and suggests that there is no significant change in Apple’s production plan.

Preparations for iPhone Ultra mass production are nearing completion

According to the news in the South Korean press and based on Apple supply chain officials in Korea and Taiwan, the company has clarified the basic hardware features of the iPhone Ultra, including its screen, case and mechanical components. It is stated that after this process is completed, the device moves into the final preparation phase before mass production. According to the report, the first production batch will be carried out by Foxconn. In addition, it is also reported that the first trial production was completed in April.

In foldable smartphone production, the hinge mechanism is considered one of the most critical components in terms of durability and screen integrity. The latest news suggests that the hinge-related problems previously mentioned have been resolved. However, no official statement has been made by Apple on this subject. Therefore, details about the production process are based on information from the supply chain for now.

The claims that have emerged so far about Apple’s foldable iPhone model agree that the device will have a design that can be folded in book form. It was previously stated in various industry reports that the company was working with Samsung Display on display technology and had been conducting tests with different suppliers for a long time for the hinge system. One of the main reasons why Apple moved later than its competitors in this segment is the high quality expectation in terms of durability and user experience.

Despite this, it is not yet clear when exactly the iPhone Ultra will be available for sale. The latest report states that it is becoming increasingly likely that the device will be introduced at the same event as the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September. However, just because the promotion is made on the same date may not mean that sales will start in the same period. There are examples in the past where Apple has left a gap of several weeks between the announcement and the on-sale date for some new product categories.

Although the available information does not contain official confirmation for now, similar claims from different sources show that Apple is approaching the final stages of the development process on the foldable iPhone project. As the company’s September event approaches, more concrete information about both technical features and sales calendar is expected to emerge. It will not be a surprise if new supply chain reports regarding the mass production process of the iPhone Ultra continue to arrive until then.
