According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s post today, Apple plans to make the second generation Apple Vision Pro headset ready for production in the second half of 2025.
Although it is stated that there will be no major changes in the general design and technical features of the new Vision Pro, it is claimed that the device will be powered by the M5 chip. This represents a significant leap forward over the M2 chip used in the first generation model.
It remains unclear whether Apple will bring Apple Intelligence features to the first generation Vision Pro. The company has not made an official statement about the software roadmap of this device. However, Vision Pro is powered by the M2 chip, and Apple Intelligence support is available on iPads and Macs with M2 chips. Code references found by 9to5Mac also show that Apple Intelligence integration into Vision Pro is on the way.
Kuo claims that the second-generation Vision Pro will deliver the “best Apple Intelligence user experience” thanks to the significant performance boost that comes with the M5 chip. However, it is not yet clear what these statements mean in practice.
The price of the new Vision Pro is expected to start at $ 3499, just like the first generation model. On the other hand, there are also rumors that Apple is working on a more affordable entry-level ‘Apple Vision’ title.
The new generation Vision Pro will attract attention especially with the performance improvements offered by the M5 chip. Kuo states that these updates, combined with Apple Intelligence integration, will offer users a much improved experience. As with the first generation Vision Pro, Apple is expected to prioritize innovative software and hardware integration in this model.
In addition, Apple’s work on a Vision model that is more affordable in terms of price is interpreted as this will strengthen the company’s position in the augmented reality market. However, no clear date or pricing information has yet been shared for Apple’s lower-priced model. The fact that the Vision Pro series continues to develop is considered a sign that Apple will take important steps in this field.
