Apple is in talks with Meta and other companies for AI integration

Apple is taking important steps to develop the artificial intelligence technologies it has recently collected under the name Apple Intelligence and use them in its new devices. According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Apple is holding talks with Meta in line with this goal. These meetings have the potential to use the artificial intelligence models developed by Meta. On the other hand, WSJ reports that Apple is also in contact with other startup companies in the field of artificial intelligence, such as Anthropic and Perplexity. However, it is stated that no finalized agreement has emerged from these negotiations so far.

At the World Developers Conference (WWDC) held in early June, Apple officially announced its collaboration with OpenAI. Within the scope of this collaboration, OpenAI’s popular artificial intelligence model ChatGPT will be integrated for use on new generation iPhone, iPad and Mac devices. In his speech at the event, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, Craig Federighi, also touched upon Gemini, the artificial intelligence model developed by Google. Federighi stated that Google Gemini may be added to Apple Intelligence in the future and users will have the opportunity to choose their preferred artificial intelligence models.

Apple’s artificial intelligence strategy

Apple aims to improve user experience by integrating artificial intelligence technologies into its devices. Currently, only the collaboration with OpenAI has been finalized. The GPT-4 model developed by OpenAI will be integrated into various tools, especially Apple’s digital assistant Siri, and will be available this year. This integration will enable Siri to become smarter and more functional. In this way, users will experience a more effective and efficient digital assistant experience.

Apple’s discussions with Meta and other AI companies show that the company is embracing diversity and flexibility in its AI strategy. Meta’s AI models could be complementary to Apple’s existing AI solutions. This has the potential to offer a wider range of artificial intelligence services to Apple users.

Possible collaborations with Meta and other companies in the future may enable the further development of Apple’s digital assistant Siri and other artificial intelligence-based services. Time will tell what impact these developments will have on the technology world and what kind of innovations they will offer to Apple users.
