Apple’s artificial intelligence, called Apple Intelligence, which Apple announced with iOS 18, won’t be ready in September. However, this doesn’t seem to change the company’s plans. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman stated in the latest issue of his newsletter Power On that Apple will release the iPhone 16 series in September.
Apple last week postponed the release of Apple Intelligence to iOS 18.1. Apple Intelligence is expected to be one of the key selling points for the iPhone 16s. The Cupertino-based company is described as a technology that will encourage users to upgrade their phones, as it will only bring the technology to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max from its current models.
Apple has delayed the announcement of iPhones in the past because software features were not ready. The iPhone 4S was released in October because Siri and iCloud were not ready. Although this is a 14-year-old example, it is worth remembering.
September 10th is highlighted for the launch of the iPhone 16 series
Gurman’s article includes the following statements on the subject: “Apple usually launches the iPhone in September these days. However, the company is faced with a dilemma. Apple Intelligence, one of the key features of the iPhone 16, will not be ready until October. This time, the company will follow a different path than the iPhone 4S launch period and will not delay the launch of its new phones. I was told that the iPhone launch will take place at about the same time as last year. This makes September 10th one of the possible dates. Those who purchase an iPhone 16 after the launch will need to update their phones to iOS 18.1 in October for Apple Intelligence.”
Apple Intelligence was launched in beta last month with basic features like Text Tools and Create Memories in Photos. The new Siri also comes with the same update, but ChatGPT integration is not yet live. Genmoji and Image Playground features are also not live yet.
In his article, Gurman once again reminded that the iPhone 16 models will be introduced in September.
