How do you prevent your MacBook from opening automatically?
First of all, you need to make sure that your MacBook is using a MacOS Sequoia 15 or a newer version. Then, just open the terminal application and enter certain commands. The terminal application is located in the Folder of the Applications in your Mac Folder. You can also find the Terminal under the other folder in Launchpad.
After opening the Terminal, you can enter one of the following commands:
- To prevent automatic opening when the cover is opened or connected to the power supply:
sudo nvram BootPreference=%00 - To prevent automatic opening only when the cover is opened:
sudo nvram BootPreference=%01 - To prevent automatic opening only when connected to the power supply:
sudo nvram BootPreference=%02
After entering these commands, you will be asked to enter your administrator password. The terminal will not show on the screen when you enter your password, so be sure to write correctly.
Automatic Opening Re -Activating
If you want to get this setting back and ensure that your MacBook is opened automatically, to Terminal sudo nvram -d BootPreference Just enter the command. This command will take back the previous change and your device will return to its old behavior.
Apple’s presentation allows users to manage their devices more personally.
