Another sign has come for Xiaomi 15 to enter the world stage

Xiaomi introduced its highly anticipated 2024 flagship Xiaomi 15 series in China in October. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, this series offers significant upgrades in both design and performance.

The device, which is only available for sale in the Chinese market, is likely to be offered to the global market very soon as it appears in FCC (US Federal Communications Commission) certification.

According to the FCC listing, the global version of Xiaomi 15 will be available in two different options: 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. In contrast, the Chinese model has a higher capacity option such as 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. This shows that the global model will offer a limited option for high-end users.

The device will come with Android 15 based Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 operating system. This updated software experience promises an improved user interface and new features supported by artificial intelligence.

FCC certification confirms that the device has passed communications and security testing. This shows that Xiaomi 15 is suitable for sale in markets with strict regulations, such as the USA.

Xiaomi 15 is powered by TSMC’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset based on 3nm manufacturing process. This processor comes with a custom Orion core running at 4.32 GHz and Adreno 830 GPU. This hardware, designed for high performance and gaming experience, is also preserved in the global model.

The screen of the device has a 6.36 inch LTPO OLED panel. Offering a resolution of 1200 x 2670 pixels, this screen offers a superior viewing experience with a dynamic refresh rate ranging from 1 Hz to 120 Hz, 3200 nits maximum brightness, Dolby Vision and HDR10 + support.

On the camera side, Xiaomi 15 comes with a triple rear camera setup. These sensors, each offering 50 MP resolution; It consists of wide angle, ultra wide angle and 3x telephoto lenses. The Pro model differs from this configuration only with its telephoto lens that offers 5x optical zoom.

In terms of battery and charging technologies, the device has shown a significant improvement compared to the previous model. Xiaomi 15 has a battery with a capacity of 5400 mAh. Charging options are quite strong, with 90W wired, 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging support.

When will the global launch be held for Xiaomi 15?

Although the global launch date of the device has not been determined, looking at Xiaomi’s past launch schedule, it seems likely that the Xiaomi 15 series will be introduced in February or March 2025. This marks a strategy following the global launch of the Xiaomi 14 series.
