Visionpark Atlas aims to install a solar-powered car park without digging a foundation

Visionpark plans to launch the Atlas solar car park series in January 2027. The France-based company is preparing the new system for businesses and service facilities as well as residences. The solution, which does not limit the use of solar energy in cars to the panels on the vehicle, adds shade, electricity generation and optional charging to the parking area. The most striking aspect is that the structure benefits from its own weight instead of a separate foundation excavation.

Atlas uses single-arm precast concrete carrier. Its own weight keeps the structure balanced, so the system does not require traditional foundation or ground anchoring. Concrete parts are prepared in the factory and transported to the installation site. In addition, Visionpark aims to create a pre-equipped energy station that can be installed in one day with two assembly workers. This time describes the manufacturer’s installation target.

The new family will consist of three models. Solar panel power will vary between 3 and 15 kW, and the building height can reach 4 meters. French manufacturer Voltec Solar will provide the panels, while the aluminum connection system will use a special design for this canopy. The company bases its carrier and panel connection system on a technical evaluation framework combined with European structural design standards.

The equipment to be selected for the installation includes an electric vehicle charging unit, solar energy inverter and energy management. In addition, customers will be able to choose battery capacities between 3 and 20 kWh. However, this range does not mean that every model will come with the same battery, and the hardware varies depending on the model and the customer’s needs.

Atlas combines electricity generation and storage in the same parking area

Here, panel power and battery capacity meet two separate needs. The kW value tells the power size of the system, and the kWh value tells the energy that the battery can store. For this reason, 15 kW panel power should not be interpreted as the same amount of production all day or the vehicle charging at the same speed. The announcement does not give daily production or vehicle charging times for all versions.

Visionpark’s foundationless canopy approach focuses on preserving the existing park surface and moving the structure when necessary. Atlas extends this approach to smaller use cases. However, the expression “without foundation” does not automatically indicate that every ground and every field condition is suitable. Structural suitability, electrical connection and selected hardware require consideration together in the installation plan.

The company does not announce the sales price of the new series, and the January 2027 target does not mean a product ready for delivery today. For those considering generating energy from parking space, the value of Atlas lies in the possibility of planning the canopy and electrical equipment together. On the other hand, the announcement does not contain information about sales, service or installation schedule in Türkiye.
