Lenovo has launched the Snapdragon processor version of the ThinkPad T14s Gen 7 in the wider market. The model, which was launched in certain regions such as North America in mid-July, can now be purchased in many countries, especially in Europe. The ThinkPad T14s Gen 7 series forms part of Lenovo’s business-oriented laptop family, which it has redesigned in its seventh generation. The company first put the version using AMD’s Gorgon Point platform on sale. This new design aims for a thinner and lighter case structure, as well as long battery life and strong daily performance. While the AMD-based model received generally positive evaluations in the reviews, it was also noted that high power consumption in standby mode could negatively affect battery usage time. Snapdragon comes with X2 Elite and X2 Plus options
ThinkPad T14s Gen 7 Snapdragon can be preferred with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-42-100 and Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-80-100 processors. Although the two platforms seem different in terms of naming, the difference between them remains at approximately 20 percent according to performance measurements. Therefore, both processors are expected to offer a similar experience in daily office applications, video meetings and productivity-oriented usage scenarios. While the Snapdragon X2 Elite model provides an advantage for users who need higher performance, the X2 Plus version is a more accessible alternative in terms of price.
While LPDDR5X-9600 RAM is used on the memory side, the storage area is offered in M.2 2242 SSD format. When the Snapdragon X2 Elite processor configuration is preferred, the system comes with 32 GB RAM. This capacity can be especially advantageous for professionals who use many applications at the same time and users who want to benefit from artificial intelligence-supported productivity tools. In addition, Wi-Fi 7 support allows you to benefit from new generation wireless networks with higher speed and lower latency.
There are two different options for the 14-inch IPS screen. Both panels offer 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate. In addition to having touch support, the entry-level screen reaches 400 nits brightness and 45 percent NTSC color gamut. The higher-level screen offers 500 nits brightness and 100 percent sRGB color coverage while giving up the touch feature. This second option can provide a more convenient experience, especially in photo editing, content creation, and professional workflows where color accuracy is important.
ThinkPad T14s Gen 7 Snapdragon, which includes 58 Wh on the battery capacity side, aims to strike a balance between portability and long usage time. The fact that the laptop weighs only 1.19 kilograms is an important advantage for professionals who travel frequently or carry their device with them throughout the day. The robust chassis structure, keyboard quality and corporate security features that have stood out for many years in the ThinkPad series are also preserved in this model.
The starting price of the model on sale in Europe varies between 2,009 and 2,280 euros in the configuration containing the Snapdragon X2 Plus processor, 16 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD. The same hardware is sold for a starting price of £1,909 in the UK and $1,719 in the US.
