The first official sign appeared before the Vivo X Fold 6 global launch

Vivo X Fold 6, which was introduced in China last month, gave one of the first concrete signs of its launch into the global market. The device was spotted on Indonesia’s SDPPI certification platform. While this development shows that Vivo is preparing to launch its new generation foldable phone in markets outside China, the marketing name of the international model has been confirmed in an official certification record for the first time.

A similar schedule was expected to follow after the Vivo X Fold 5 went on sale in the global market in July 2025. However, to date, no official announcement has been made about the new model, and the device has not appeared in global certification databases. The SDPPI record stands out as the first official development to break this silence.

Vivo X Fold 6 global version may offer the same hardware as the Chinese model

No details have been shared regarding the technical specifications of the device, which is listed with the model number V2559 in the Indonesian SDPI database. Despite this, it is considered that the certification record belongs to the global version, which carries the same hardware as the model introduced in China. The model number in question was also previously seen in the certification records of the European Economic Community (EEC). However, thanks to the SDPPI list, it has become clear for the first time that the commercial name of the device is Vivo X Fold 6.

Vivo X Fold 6, available for sale in China, comes with an 8.02-inch LTPO AMOLED foldable screen. On the outside, there is a 6.53 inch LTPO AMOLED cover screen. Both displays offer a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, peak brightness reaching 5,000 nits, and various display technologies that support eye comfort. This structure aims to provide similar display experience in both folded and open usage scenarios.

On the hardware side, the phone features the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor and is offered with up to 16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB storage options. In addition, the device has a BlueVolt battery with a capacity of 7,000 mAh. The battery supports 80 W wired and 40 W wireless fast charging. On the software side, there is OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16. The Atomic Workbench multitasking system, developed for the large screen, also offers more efficient window management and productivity tools with its updated version.

The camera system consists of components that reflect Vivo’s upper segment target. The phone has a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ZEISS APO periscope telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. While image processing processes are supported by Vivo’s V3 + imaging chip, telephoto extender accessory support is also offered. On the front, there is a camera with a resolution of 20 megapixels on both the outer screen and the foldable inner screen.

On the durability side, Vivo The slim body structure, large battery and advanced camera system are among the prominent aspects of the device. On the other hand, since OriginOS is not used in the global market, it seems possible that the international model will come with a different software experience based on Funtouch OS.

Vivo has not yet announced the global launch date of the X Fold 6. However, the start of the certification process is considered an important development that indicates that the international launch is approaching. Some early claims from India suggest that the sale of the device in this market may be postponed until October. There is no definitive date regarding the global release schedule until an official statement comes from the company.
