Motorola’s new eSIM app offers free data in 160 countries

Motorola has launched its new Android application called Global Connect, which aims to facilitate international mobile data usage. The application, developed in collaboration with Gigs, is initially available to Google Play Store users in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Peru and Chile. In addition, the application is pre-installed on a significant portion of compatible Motorola smartphones. The company states that the service will be available in various European countries later in the year.

Global Connect allows users to purchase mobile data packages in different countries without the need for a physical SIM card. Various eSIM packages that appeal to different usage scenarios can be selected through the application. Packages; While they vary in terms of data amount, usage time and price, alternatives are offered according to the short or long-term needs of traveling users. Thus, users who go abroad can continue their internet access without having to look for a local SIM card or pay high roaming fees.

Motorola Global Connect offers 1GB of free data on first use, valid in 160 countries

Motorola also provides 1 GB free mobile data package for users who use the app for the first time. According to the information shared by the company, this gift data package can be used in 160 countries around the world. This offer provides a practical start for users who want to meet their basic internet access needs, especially during short-term trips. After free use, new data packages can be purchased with different pricing options according to needs.

The application adopts the basic experience offered by eSIM services that are widespread today. After users select a suitable data package, the eSIM profile is activated in a short time and the connection can be used. In addition, the service also supports 5G connection on supported mobile networks. Of course, the connection technology that can be used may vary depending on the operator infrastructure in the country and the technical specifications of the device used.

In recent years, international eSIM services have become more preferred, especially among users who travel frequently. Following platforms such as Airalo, Nomad, Saily and GigSky, smartphone manufacturers are also turning to offer their own solutions. While Motorola’s Global Connect application increases the options in this area, it stands out as a solution offered directly by the device manufacturer. Although it was initially launched in a limited number of markets, the expansion plan for Europe shows that the application will reach a wider user base. While the free data package offered and direct integration with devices provide ease of use, the long-term success of the service will depend on the number of countries supported, package prices and the scope of operator collaborations.
