Apple Intelligence will make daily tasks easier for iPhone users

Apple announced the next generation version of the Apple Intelligence platform as part of WWDC. The company announced that it is using a new architecture that focuses on privacy while integrating artificial intelligence features more deeply into the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods and Apple Vision Pro ecosystem. Most of the innovations, the testing process of which has started for developers, will be offered to users in the autumn months.

With the new version, many system components, especially Photos, Safari, Passwords, Messages, Mail, Calendar, Shortcuts and Home applications, gain artificial intelligence-supported capabilities. Apple’s approach is based on users expressing what they want using natural language rather than complex commands, and the system automatically performing the necessary actions.

Craig Federighi stated that the main goal of Apple Intelligence is to make artificial intelligence a natural part of daily experiences. The company emphasizes that these technologies are designed in a structure that is not only powerful, but also able to understand personal context and protect user privacy.

Apple also announced that the next generation Apple Intelligence infrastructure forms the basis for the new version of Siri. The new system, called Siri AI, can perform more comprehensive operations between messages, emails, photos and applications. Users can search for information, perform transactions in applications, and get answers to a wider range of questions using natural language. Siri AI features are planned to be available in beta version towards the end of the year.

Photos, Safari and Image Playground are among the prominent innovations

The Photos app gets major editing tools with Apple Intelligence. Thanks to the new feature called Spatial Reframing, users can change the perspective of the photo and recompose the frame after shooting. In addition, the Extend tool helps expand the image by completing the missing areas. The new version of the Straighten tool can remove unwanted objects with more realistic results. Apple also states that SynthID watermark will be used in images edited with artificial intelligence.

On the Safari side, the new system that automatically groups tabs based on subject attracts attention. When users work with multiple tabs on the same topic, the browser can bring them together in an orderly manner. In addition, thanks to the “Notify Me” feature, certain web pages can be followed for developments such as product stock status or price changes. The Passwords application can also replace weak or compromised passwords with more secure alternatives with a single tap.

One of Apple’s most striking innovations in the field of generative artificial intelligence is Image Playground. The new system allows users to create high-quality images with text commands or by manipulating images directly. In addition to producing realistic visuals, the platform can also create wallpapers, person posters or content suitable for different screen formats. The images produced also contain invisible SynthID marks.

Context-based suggestions are offered in Messages and Mail applications. When a photo needs to be sent to a user, the system can automatically suggest relevant images. The Smart Reply feature can also prepare more personalized response drafts by taking into account the user’s writing style. In addition, the Calendar application can create events from commands given in natural language, while the Shortcuts application can prepare automations by simply providing explanations.

The Apple Intelligence update also brings various innovations on the accessibility side. Tools such as VoiceOver, Live Recognition and Voice Control benefit from more advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, while providing more detailed descriptions and natural interaction options for users with visual or mobility limitations.

Behind all these features is Apple’s new Apple Base Models software framework. The company states that transactions are carried out on the device as much as possible, and that Private Cloud Computing infrastructure comes into play in scenarios requiring higher processing power. According to Apple, the new architecture continues to keep privacy and data security at the center of artificial intelligence features.
