The first concrete sign about the Galaxy Tab S12+ has emerged

New information continues to emerge about Samsung’s new generation flagship tablet series, Galaxy Tab S12. For the Galaxy Tab S12 series, which has been stated to be under development for a while, a software file said to belong to the Galaxy Tab S12+ model has been seen on Samsung servers. While this development shows that the device has entered the active testing process, it also gives new clues about the release schedule of the series.

In the first information shared in February, it was stated that Samsung was working on the Galaxy Tab S12 family, which is the continuation of the Galaxy Tab S11 series. Then, last month, it was revealed that the Tab S12 Ultra model started firmware tests. With the latest development, it appears that the company has started software preparations for the Plus variant. It is stated that the device with model number SM-X846B, detected on Samsung’s servers, was referred to as Galaxy Tab S12+ in previous leaks.

The resulting firmware version carries the code X846BXXU0AZE5. In Samsung’s product development processes, firmware tests generally show that the devices have reached a certain maturity on the hardware side. Despite this, there is currently very limited information about the technical features of the tablet. Current leaks only point to a few basic details, such as battery capacity.

High capacity battery expectations stand out in the Galaxy Tab S12+ model

According to previously shared information, the Tab S12+ model may include a battery with a capacity of 10,392 mAh. This capacity seems close to the values ​​preferred by Samsung in its previous generation upper segment tablets. While long battery life stands out in large-screen Android tablets, especially in productivity and multimedia usage scenarios, it is not yet known whether Samsung will offer additional improvements in energy efficiency in the new model.

In addition, concrete information about the processor, display technology, camera system or S Pen features has not yet emerged. Still, considering Samsung’s tablet strategy in recent years, elements such as the AMOLED screen, high-end Qualcomm processor and advanced multitasking capabilities are expected to be retained. The company, which focuses especially on productivity-oriented usage experience in the Android tablet market, continues to position the Galaxy Tab series as a laptop alternative.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S11 series in September 2025. Since the company generally maintains an annual renewal cycle on the tablet side, it seems likely that the Galaxy Tab S12 family will be announced in September 2026. Although the official launch date has not yet been confirmed, the start of firmware tests indicates that the development process is progressing in line with the planned schedule.
