Google Play now allows playing paid games without purchasing them

Google Play is introducing a new feature that allows mobile game users to try paid games before purchasing them. This system, called “Game Trials”, allows players to play a free part of the game for a certain period of time. Thus, users have the opportunity to evaluate the gameplay mechanics, performance and overall experience before paying for a game. The application, which started with a limited number of games on mobile platforms, is planned to come to the PC version of Google Play Games in the future. This approach aims to reduce hesitations, especially when purchasing paid games.

There is now a “Try” button on the pages of games with Game Trials support in the Google Play store. When the user touches this option, information on how long the game can be played for free is displayed on the screen. In the survival and horror game Dredge, one of the examples given by Google, players are given 60 minutes of free gameplay. When this period expires, the user is presented with two options: to purchase the game or to remove it from the device. Thus, the gaming experience can continue without interruption.

Google Play created a special section for new games and PC

Google is adding other innovations to the Play ecosystem that are not limited to just the trial feature. According to the company’s statement, more paid independent games will be available on the Play Store in the coming months. Productions such as Moonlight Peaks, Sledding Game and Low-Budget Repairs are planned to be added to the platform. These games are seen as being able to help independent developers bring their projects to a wider audience. In addition, a new section has been created in the Play Store that highlights games optimized for Windows computers.

Games in this PC-focused section can be added to the wish list by users. In this way, the user is notified when the game goes on sale or a new campaign starts. In recent years, Google has been making serious investments in the Google Play Games platform to ensure that mobile games can also be played on computers. This section prepared for Windows is a continuation of the approach that aims to bring the mobile gaming experience to different devices.

On the other hand, the company also introduces a new assistant tool supported by artificial intelligence to the players. The Android overlay feature called Play Games Sidekick, introduced last year, can now be used in some Play Store games. This system, which works with the Gemini artificial intelligence model, can provide tips, tools and information about the game being played. Thus, players can access the necessary information without making a separate search during the game.

In addition, a feature to increase community interaction is also being expanded in the Play Store. Thanks to the system called “Community Posts”, users can see the posts of other players on the pages of certain games. This feature, which is currently available in selected games and in English, allows players to share their experiences and get recommendations about the game.
