YouTube Music started to offer users a summary of music listening for 2025. The summary, which was made available before the end of November this year as in previous years, attracts attention this time with a new chat feature supported by artificial intelligence. This new tool, which evaluates users’ annual listening habits in a visual and interactive way, offers entertaining analysis through personalized data.
Year-end recaps, initiated by Spotify with its annual “Wrapped” recap and later adopted by other major platforms such as YouTube Music, Apple Music and Amazon Music, have now become an indispensable part of music listening culture. While each platform offers its own interpretation, YouTube Music wants to stand out with its update this year. In particular, thanks to the new artificial intelligence chat feature, users encounter not only numerical data but also creative and personal comments.
YouTube Music provides a fun look at listening habits
As in previous years, the 2025 summary includes information such as the artists, songs, music genres and total listening times that users listen to most. In addition, there are contents with titles such as “musical best friend” and “musical passport” that visualize the diversity and countries from which the artists you listen to come from. These sections offer the opportunity to evaluate your listening habits from different perspectives.
But the most striking aspect of this year’s update is the chat feature integrated with “Ask Music”, YouTube Music’s artificial intelligence assistant. Thanks to this interactive structure, users can ask specific questions about their listening habits and receive original answers. For example, “Describe my listening with five new genres,” “How has my listening changed this year compared to last year?”, “My listening summary is like a weather report,” or “Was my music more energetic or calm this year?” Fun results can be obtained by asking creative questions such as. All these answers are presented in the form of shareable graphics.
This feature, which is not yet available to everyone, is being rolled out gradually. YouTube Music users can access their summaries from the “Your Summary” heading by clicking on the profile icon in the upper right corner after opening the application. It is stated that it may take a few days for the feature to reach all users.
While this interactive experience of YouTube Music allows users to access more in-depth data analysis, it also strengthens the platform’s approach to personalization. While Spotify’s annual wrapup, called Wrapped, is still one of the most shared formats on social media, YouTube Music’s new chat feature aims to add a new dimension to the experience.
