Yandex Turkey has restructured Yandex Maps with a comprehensive update. This update, which is made to make users’ daily urban mobility easier and intuitive, significantly improves both the visuality and functionality of the application. The new Yandex Maps is not only for drivers; It was designed by taking into account all types of transport from cyclists to pedestrians. Users in Türkiye are now encountering a much more simple and realistic map experience.
With the update, high resolution maps were commissioned especially for dense regions in big cities such as Istanbul. Many details, from lane marking to road separations, can now be seen more clearly. In parallel, the layers on the map were also compatible with the user needs. Thanks to this approach, not only those who use vehicles, but also public transport users can find their way more comfortable.

The renewed map design focuses especially on visual simplicity and readability. With the change in the color palette, maps are now available in more natural and eye -catching tones. Saturated tones, which replace pastel colors, contribute to users to find direction without distracting their attention. However, visual details such as transparency and emphasis make the map more functional.
In particular, the pedestrian underpasses were made more visible by marking them in purple color and placed on the map in a translucent manner. This arrangement makes it possible to understand where the passages can be entered and where they can come from. But not only crossings, but also other important structures enrich the map experience. Simge structures such as Galata Tower and Hagia Sophia are shown with photo symbols and finding the direction is made more visual.
In navigation mode, the traffic density is more pronounced. Thanks to color coding, the jam level level can be understood at a glance. In addition, the readability of street names was increased and road tracking was facilitated. Thus, as much as those who use vehicles, the progresses can see the same clarity.
Thanks to typographic arrangements, ground names were made sharper and more legible. This innovation facilitates the use of the map, especially on mobile devices. Not only on large screens, but also on small screen devices, these improvements are noticeable. The labels on the map are prevented from appearing complex.
Alexander Popovskiy, General Manager of Yandex Türkiye, said that cities have changed rapidly and MAPS should adapt to this change. Saying that the new map appearance was developed with this understanding, Popovskiy said that the application now reflects the city texture more accurately. In addition to all these, it was emphasized that maps are not only in today’s needs, but also to future urbanization. These statements clearly demonstrate the company’s approach to urban mobility.
This new design optimized for Yandex Maps for Android, iOS and web versions does not bring additional loads to system performance. Thanks to the algorithms developed, the application works fluently despite the high resolution details. However, this performance increase does not cause any storage problems. In this respect, the application can work smoothly on new generation devices and lower -equipped models.
In addition, the dynamic structure of the map is preserved. While the cities in Türkiye are growing rapidly, the map data continues to be updated at the same speed. These updates are automatically processed to ensure that the map is always up to date. Thus, users can use the map not only to find a road, but also to follow the changes in the city.
