Xiaomi introduced its new smart wristband, Smart Band 11, in China and started the pre-registration process for the product. Maintaining the basic design line of last year’s Smart Band 10, the new model comes with improvements especially in screen brightness, thinner body and battery life. The bracelet protects the 1.72 inch AMOLED screen, this time offering maximum brightness that can reach 2000 nits. In addition, Xiaomi has reduced the body thickness to 9.99 mm and the declared weight to 15.58 grams. There is no information yet on when the Smart Band 11, which is offered in China with a starting price of 289 yuan, will arrive in international markets.
Smart Band 11 does not move away from the pill-shaped screen design that Xiaomi has been using for the last few generations. There is a 2 mm thick frame around the 1.72 inch AMOLED panel. While the screen size remains the same as the Smart Band 10, there is a notable increase in maximum brightness. The value announced as 1500 nits for the previous model goes up to 2000 nits in Smart Band 11. This increase can help make notifications, exercise information, and other on-screen elements easier to read, especially in direct sunlight.
On the design side, Xiaomi also focused on thinning the body. The body of Smart Band 11 is 9.99 mm thick and the weight of the product is 15.58 grams. However, the physical dimensions announced by Xiaomi in its Smart Band models may not take into account some components such as the strap and heart rate sensor. Therefore, the total weight of the bracelet during daily use will be above the declared value. In addition, different body materials may also cause the weight to change. In addition to the standard option, Xiaomi also offers Smart Band 11 versions with metal and ceramic cases.
Xiaomi Smart Band 11 improves health and sleep tracking
Despite the thinner body, there is no decline in water resistance. Smart Band 11 has a 5 ATM water resistance rating, like previous models. Health features include heart rate, blood oxygen level and stress monitoring. Tracking options for women’s health are also among the features offered by the software. On the sports side, a total of 150 different exercise modes are supported, so the bracelet can be used to record training in different sports branches as well as daily activity tracking.
One of the other areas that Xiaomi focused on was sleep tracking. Smart Band 11 comes with a more comprehensive sleep management system that can monitor heart rate variability, known as HRV. In addition, artificial intelligence-supported sleep evaluations help interpret the user’s data recorded throughout the night. Adding HRV data to sleep tracking can provide more detailed information beyond just looking at total sleep time or sleep stages. However, it should be noted that health measurements on smart bracelets do not replace the results obtained from medical devices.
Battery life has also been improved compared to the previous generation. Xiaomi states that Smart Band 11 can be used for up to 21 days on a single charge. Actual usage time will vary depending on the use of continuous health tracking, screen brightness, notification frequency and other features. Still, the announced period of 21 days shows that the Smart Band series maintains its advantage in battery life compared to more advanced smart watches that need to be charged regularly. Longer battery life can be a practical benefit, especially for those who want to use sleep tracking uninterruptedly.
Smart Band 11 runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 software and can be used with both Android and iOS devices. NFC support is also among the options, but this feature is not offered as standard in all versions. According to the pricing announced by Xiaomi in China, the standard Smart Band 11 will be sold at prices starting from 289 yuan. The price of the NFC supported model increases to 339 yuan, while the metal and ceramic versions are at 399 yuan. Xiaomi also offers many different straps, including metal and ceramic options; Therefore, the total cost may increase depending on the selected body and belt combination.
Smart Band 11 is currently available for reservation through Xiaomi’s sales channels in China and major e-commerce platforms in the country. It should also be noted that the new model is a separate product from Smart Band 11 Active. Considering Xiaomi’s approach to the previous product family, it is possible that a Smart Band 11 Pro option with more advanced features will emerge in the future, but the company has not announced such a model yet.
