The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s has been leaked twice so far, and although both leaks seemed false, a new rumor claims that the device could be launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Xiaomi will attend MWC 2018, as confirmed by the official website of that fair, although we are still not sure of what the company plans to announce. Most people are betting that the Xiaomi Mi 7 will be announced, but this new rumor pushes the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s forward.
What have we seen during the moments of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s?
The first render of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s appeared in November, and it showed a phone that had extremely thin bezels, and a front camera that is in the upper right corner of the phone’s screen. The second image essentially showed this device with a notch similar to the iPhone X, and as already mentioned, both seemed quite fake. In some parts of the internet, rumors run that the Mi MIX 2s is a new version of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 that was announced last year, although it is also rumored that it has a slightly different design than the Mi MIX 2.
It is expected that this phone also has the new Snapdragon 845, although we must remember that all this is still a rumor. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s is codenamed ‘Polaris’ within the company and, in addition to being powered by this Qualcomm platform, it is also said to possess 6GB of RAM and a dual camera configuration on its back. This device could have two 12 megapixel cameras, but it is also said to be smaller than the past Mi MIX 2.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s still seems to be a vague rumor more than anything else, since we did not really see any information from a known source, although the doors to it remain open, of course. It is more likely that the company chooses to introduce the Xiaomi Mi 7 during the MWC 2018, as it did with the Xiaomi Mi 5 in 2016. As most of you know, Xiaomi skipped the MWC 2017 altogether, but is returning this year, and what we see, with great force.
