Xiaomi Leica can close the new generation phones

Xiaomi is renewing the camera strategy in the smartphone market. Allegedly, the company decided to terminate its partnership with Leica and will not include external brand use on the next senior phones. This change reflects both the confidence in the R & D power and the desire to reduce costs. New models will meet the user without carrying the Leica logo.

This new approach will be implemented for the first time on SM8850 series devices, which are expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. Models such as Xiaomi 16, 16 Pro, 16 Ultra and Ultra Max are evaluated in this context. However, the Redmi K90 Pro and POCO F8 Ultra will follow the same path. These devices will use Xiaomi’s own image processing technologies.

Xiaomi began to turn to its own solutions instead of external collaborations

Sources close to Xiaomi say that the company plans to use customized color editing algorithms in these new models. The brand cooperation with Leica creates an additional cost of $ 3 to 5 dollars per device. This cooperation also complicated the production process due to licensing and authorization processes. The company wants to direct these costs to improve device equipment.

With the savings, more advanced camera sensors, high battery capacities and flat panel screens will be integrated into the devices. Xiaomi will focus on software developments, especially on image processing. A serious camera performance increase is also envisaged on the Redmi side. According to leaks, this upgrade is defined as “epic level ..

This strategy change is not only specific to Xiaomi. Huawei turned to his own XMAGAGE system after separating his paths with Leica. Manufacturers such as Vivo, Oppo and Honor are still in cooperation with brands such as Zeiss, Hasselblad and Okourt. However, commitment to foreign brands throughout the sector is gradually decreasing.

This new orientation of Xiaomi seems to be an advantage in the segments that prioritize price/performance balance. Sub -brands such as Redmi and POCO are expected to reduce costs and become more competitive. Thus, it is aimed to provide better hardware to the user at a more affordable price. This approach can highlight Xiaomi in the middle segment.

This change will also open space for the company to increase hardware investments. These devices, which will be equipped with large battery capacity, flat screen panel and advanced processors, can reach their flagship features to a wider audience. It is stated that these devices will be produced by focusing on the basic user experience. But it is a matter of curiosity whether this approach will cause a decrease in camera quality.

In addition, Xiaomi is not only on the phone side, but also in other consumer electronics products. The company has recently launched a modular socket system with 8000W of child safety. It also introduced a new -foot air conditioner model with a 115 ° oscillation angle, which provides fast heating and cooling. These devices are integrated with Hyperos.
