Xiaomi is tending to reshape digital content consumption at home with two new media players introduced in China. Android -based Box 5 and Box 5 Max models combine a simple design with advanced connection options and content improvement technologies. These devices are both small enough to hide behind the TV and light enough to be transported. The boxes with a weight of less than 100 grams are 97 mm x 97.1 mm and only 17 mm high.
The box 5 offers 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, while the Box 5 Max model doubles this capacity. The max version includes 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. This difference provides a significant advantage in transitions between applications and local content storage capacity. Both models work with a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor, and the Mali-G310 V2 is used as a graphics unit.
Providing support for high -resolution content, these devices can play up to 4K videos up to 3840 x 2160 pixels. Thanks to the AI-SR engine with artificial intelligence, low resolution videos are automatically improved. In this way, especially the old 720p and 1080p content look clearer and more vivid. There is no delay because the image improvement process works through the device’s own processor.
Dolby Vision and DTS: Sound and video balance is maintained with the support of X
The models that support the Dolby Vision image standard are also compatible with the DTS: X audio format. 7.1.4 The devices with channel transition support can offer environmental audio experience when used with compatible sound systems. This support makes a difference, especially when watching cinema content. HDMI output, USB 2.0 port and power connection, such as physical connection options are also available.
On the wireless connection side, it has Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 features. In this way, even in busy home networks, uninterrupted broadcasting becomes possible. The support of Bluetooth 5.2 allows low -delayed sound transmission in the headset or speaker connection. The connection performance of the devices stands out as one of the main elements that directly affect the media experience in the home environment.
Xiaomi’s Hyperos interface is used on the operating system side. This interface is suitable not only for the media content, but also for smart home management. The system integrated with the Mi Home application allows the control of smart devices at home via television. Thus, the television serves not only a screen, but also a control panel.
Remote control has NFC -supported screen reflection feature. Users can quickly reflect their screens on TV by bringing their phone closer to the control. There is no need for pairing menus or QR code teaching steps. The concealment of the notifications and calls incoming during this process remains confidentiality.
Xiaomi’s voice assistant Xiao Ai is presented on devices. In this way, users can perform operations with voice commands such as looking for movies, asking the weather or off smart lamps. Voice command support provides great convenience, especially in cases where access to the control is difficult. This feature makes the use of digital assistant part of the daily television experience.
There is no official information about when it will be available in Türkiye. After the launch in China, it is expected to take part in the global market. Prices were announced as 299 Yuan for Box 5 in China and 499 Yuan for Box 5 Max.
Xiaomi’s Box 5 Series aims to transform the television into an interaction center, just from being a content monitoring tool. Thanks to the functions installed in the media box, users can provide both entertainment and smart home control through a single device. Although the technical features are at the forefront, what these devices offer is practicality and ease of central control.
