Xiaomi made the global announcement of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra models at the Mobile World Congress. These two models attract attention especially with their camera features and renewed designs. Xiaomi 14 is available for order starting from Sunday, with prices starting at approximately $1082 (999 euros), and Xiaomi 14 Ultra at approximately $1624 (1,499 euros). According to LOG’s news, Xiaomi 14 is also available for sale in Turkey. The 12 GB RAM and 512 GB memory version of the phone has a price tag of 49,999 TL in the Mi official store.
Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra features
Xiaomi 14 offers the flagship experience in a more compact form. Its 6.36-inch screen has been updated with the LTPO 120Hz panel, offering both a smooth visual experience and energy efficiency. Xiaomi 14 Ultra raises the bar in photography with its 6.73 inch, 120Hz 1440p screen and 1-inch type main camera.
The global launch of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes just days after its introduction in China. This model has the potential to be one of the best camera phones of 2024. The main camera features the new 1-inch type Sony LYT-900 sensor, which is also used in the Oppo Find X7 Ultra, and has the variable aperture system introduced with Xiaomi 14 Pro.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra offers two telephoto lenses for the price of a single phone. Unlike fixed aperture, the 14 Ultra’s aperture can be adjusted in 1,024 steps between f/1.63 and f/4.0. Although this feature varies depending on use cases, it proves the functionality of the technology.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra follows in the footsteps of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and includes two telephoto lenses: 3.2x and 5x, both stabilized. On the video side, it includes the logging feature, inspired by the iPhone 15 Pro. This is a particularly useful feature for multi-camera shots that will require color correction.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra adopts flat edges, departing from last year’s curved edges. Flat edges provide a better grip, while the gentle slope on the front and back panels leaves a comfortable feeling in the hand. The updated camera kit for Xiaomi 14 Ultra can also function as an external battery for the phone.
Xiaomi 14 comes with three 50-megapixel sensors on its main, wide and 3.2x telephoto cameras. As with the Ultra model, the Leica brand gives a more secure grip feeling with a matte finish on the back panel and flat edges.
