Xiaomi 17 Max appeared on the scene with the new generation Snapdragon processor

Xiaomi announced Xiaomi 17 Max, the fourth model of the 17 series. Adopting a simpler design approach compared to the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which is positioned as the top model of the series, the phone focuses on a higher resolution main camera and a larger capacity battery instead of the second rear screen. While the device has a main camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels, the 8000 mAh capacity battery with silicon carbon structure is among the prominent technical features of the model. In addition, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, high refresh rate AMOLED screen and durability support up to IP69 level are also included in the hardware list of the device.

According to the information shared by Xiaomi, 17 Max can offer battery life exceeding two days in normal usage scenarios. The company states that the battery with silicon carbon technology can maintain 80 percent of its capacity after 1600 charging cycles. This indicates a battery life of more than four years under daily use conditions. In addition, the device offers 100W fast charging support on the wired side and also supports 50W wireless charging. However, the results of the full charging time of the high-capacity battery in practical use will become clearer in real use tests. The phone also has 22.5W reverse wired charging support, and thanks to this feature, different devices can be charged directly via the phone.

Xiaomi 17 Max comes with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor

On the hardware side of the device, there is Qualcomm’s new generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Xiaomi supports this processor with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage units. The model offers 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage in the highest configuration. Despite this, no information has been shared about microSD card support. The choice of high performance-oriented processor ensures that the device is in a competitive position, especially in games and artificial intelligence-supported applications. In addition, the fact that the HyperOS 3 interface is based on Android 16 offers an up-to-date experience on the software side.

Xiaomi 17 Max, as its name suggests, is positioned as a large-screen phone. The device has a 6.9 inch AMOLED screen. Offering a resolution of 2608 x 1200 pixels, the panel supports a 120 Hz refresh rate. In addition, the highest brightness level of the screen is announced as 3500 nits. While the perforated screen design is preferred on the front, there is a 32 megapixel selfie camera here. The ultrasonic fingerprint reader integrated into the screen is also among the biometric security features of the device.

In the rear camera system, the 200 megapixel main camera with Samsung HP9 sensor attracts attention. The camera, which has an aperture of ƒ/1.65, comes with optical image stabilization support. Xiaomi states that the sensor offers 13.5EV dynamic range. The main camera is accompanied by a 50-megapixel telephoto camera capable of 3x optical zoom. It is also stated that this camera offers macro shooting support. The third camera consists of a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 17 mm equivalent focal length. Although the hardware features seem strong on paper, the impact of software optimizations, especially on the image processing side, on the real usage experience will be decisive.

Xiaomi 17 Max will be available in black, white and blue color options. The price of the starting model with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage in China was announced as 4799 yuan (approximately 32,270 TL). The top model, which offers 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, carries a price tag of 5799 yuan (approximately 39,000 TL). There is no official statement yet about when the company will introduce the device to global markets.
