Xiaomi officially introduced the new flagship model Xiaomi 15 Ultra in China. The device will be available in the Chinese market with a starting price of 6,499 Yuan (32,615 TL). This model is positioned as the top segment member of the same series as Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, introduced in October 2024. However, Xiaomi 15 Ultra does not bring a large -scale design change compared to its predecessor 14 Ultra. The most striking innovation is the 200 -megapixel periscope camera, which says Xiaomi offers significant improvements in low light performance.
The Xiaomi 15 series will be launched on 2 March 2025 as part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC).
Xiaomi has always positioned the Ultra series as camera -oriented models. Xiaomi 15 Ultra continues this tradition. Just as in 14 Ultra, the device has a large and circular camera module with a four lens. Xiaomi says that he is inspired by his cooperation with Leica in terms of design. The phone has three different versions: double-tone silver-black, classic white and black models.
The biggest innovation is periscope lens with 200 MP resolution 4.3x optical zoom. This camera uses a technology similar to periscope systems on competing models such as Vivo X100 Ultra, Vivo X200 Pro and Honor Magic 7 Pro. However, Xiaomi offers a shorter zoom compared to the 5x periscope lens in Ultra. However, a larger sensor promises better performance in lower light conditions with a faster aperture and higher resolution. In developing this model, the company also announced that it uses the code name “Night God” (Night God). This is an indication of the importance given to low light photography.
The other three rear cameras have a resolution of 50 megapixels. However, Xiaomi, this year, a change in the main camera system, removed variable aperture technology. Instead, a fixed lens with F/1.63 aperture was used.
Xiaomi also announced the third generation Photography Kit accessory to increase the camera experience of 15 Ultra. This Kit includes a special case for the phone and a camera holder. The new model offers a red color option, while the battery capacity was increased to 2,000 mAh. In this way, the Kit can be used as a small power bank for the phone. Although the thumb support has been added in the renewed design, basic camera controls such as shutter button, video recording button, zooming arm and exposure wheel are preserved.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra comes with Snapdragon 8 Elite
Xiaomi 15 Ultra is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 elite chipset. Other than that, there are no major changes in design. The 6.73-inch AMOLED display has a dynamic renewal rate of 1-120hz, similar to its predecessor. However, Xiaomi says the screen increases the maximum HDR brightness to 3,200 Nits. In addition, the device has IP68 certificate, ie water and dust resistance is maintained.
There is a significant increase in the battery capacity side. The Xiaomi comes with a large battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh. However, there is no change in charging speeds. The wired charging remains 90W and wireless charging is 80W. The Qi2 wireless charging standard, which we have started to see on many Android flagships recently, is not included in this model.
