Vivo Y31t quietly became official on the company’s Indian website after the leak that appeared a few days ago. The phone, which Vivo published on its product page without organizing a separate promotional event, draws attention especially with its large battery with a capacity of 7200 mAh. In addition, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, LCD screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and 44W fast charging support are among the main features of the phone. While Vivo prepares the Y31t with three different memory and storage options, it also offers three alternatives on the color side. Despite this, the company has not yet provided information about the sales price and exact sales date of the phone.
Vivo Y31t has a 6.75-inch LCD screen on the front. While this panel offers a resolution of 720 x 1608 pixels, it aims to provide a smoother image in interface transitions and supported applications thanks to its 120 Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness value of the screen is stated as 1250 nits. The fact that the resolution is relatively low compared to the screen size can be one of the weak points of the phone, especially for users who want higher pixel density. On the other hand, the choice of LCD panel and lower resolution, when considered together with the large-capacity battery, can contribute to keeping energy consumption under control.
Vivo Y31t features revolve around large battery capacity
At the heart of the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. Vivo combines this processor with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage or 6 GB RAM and 256 GB storage options. Thus, a 256 GB option is offered for users who need more storage space. While the Y31t comes with the Android 16 operating system out of the box, Vivo’s OriginOS 6 user interface runs on it. Although the hardware level does not seem to be geared towards high-end performance, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 creates a base suitable for the class in which the phone is positioned for daily applications, social media use and basic mobile games.
The rear camera system consists of a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Vivo thus opted for a simpler dual-camera setup rather than using numerous low-resolution auxiliary cameras. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies. On paper, the camera hardware does not seem as ambitious as the battery and durability features of the Y31t. In particular, the lack of an ultra-wide-angle camera limits the shooting options, while the usage area of the 2-megapixel depth sensor is limited to auxiliary data in portrait shots.
The 7200 mAh battery, which is the highlight of the Y31t, is complemented by 44W wired fast charging support. This capacity is significantly higher than the around 5000 mAh batteries used in many Android phones today and can help achieve longer operating time under heavy use. However, the effect of the large battery on the physical features of the phone is also seen. The device measures 166.64 x 78.43 x 8.39 mm and weighs 219 grams. Therefore, while capacity will be a strong advantage for those who prioritize long battery life, the weight of 219 grams will be a factor to consider for those who prefer a lighter and more compact phone.
On the durability side, the presence of IP68 and IP69 certifications stands out as another notable feature of the Y31t. While these certificates show that the phone offers protection against dust and water, the IP69 rating also covers certain protection conditions against high pressure and high temperature water sprays. In addition, the fingerprint reader is positioned on the side of the phone, not under the screen. Plastic material was preferred on the back panel. The model, which has three color options: Crimson Red, Beach Green and Golden Mist, thus offers different visual options in addition to its technical features.
In the general hardware table of Vivo Y31t, battery capacity, 120 Hz screen and IP68/IP69 protection are its strengths. On the other hand, the 720p class screen resolution, plastic back surface and limited auxiliary camera equipment clearly indicate cost-oriented preferences. Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 also positions the phone around daily use and long battery life rather than performance-oriented models. Therefore, the main factor that will determine the competitiveness of the Y31t will be its price. Since Vivo’s India site has not yet shared price information, it is necessary to wait for sales information to be announced to evaluate the phone’s position against models with similar equipment.
