Tiktok announced new digital audit tools for young user safety and manufacturer controls

Tiktok commissioned new vehicles both to make young users more protected against online risks and to provide more control in content management to content producers. Recently, the increasing regulation pressures for social media platforms and the expectations of the public on child safety direct companies to restructuring in -application security systems. In this context, Tiktok attracts attention with its updated parent inspections, which focus on the limitation of content and interactions faced by young users. In addition, a number of vehicles that enable manufacturers to manage the digital content process more effectively have been added to the platform.

With the feature of Family Pairing, parents can now intervene more directly in some basic preferences in their children’s accounts. The new system offers parents options such as monitoring their children’s content upload preferences, blocking certain users and restricting content access. With this update, when young users share content, automatic notification is sent to family members. Thus, even though parents are not directly involved in the content production process, they have the chance to follow the developments closely. In addition, the details of who can follow the children or who can follow them, as well as details have been made controllable.

Special control systems offer more transparency to Tiktok content producers

One of the prominent innovations on Tiktok’s manufacturer’s vehicles front was the new comment filtering system that enabled user reviews to be managed more effectively by content owners. This feature, called “Creator Care Mode ,, defines the types of comments that manufacturers frequently deleted in the past with the support of artificial intelligence and ensures that similar content is automatically blocking in the future. Developed to understand whether the comments are harmful, this system helps manufacturers to filter negative interactions without losing time. In addition, the feature of prohibiting certain words in live broadcast reviews was included in the system. In this way, unwanted expressions can be automatically silenced for certain times.

Tiktok also renewed the message box for manufacturers and presented two different categories that allow incoming messages to be unreadable or important. In this way, manufacturers can manage message traffic more systematically. It was also given the opportunity to create automatic answers to frequently incoming questions on the platform. This function aims to alleviate the burden of interaction of manufacturers. Tiktok presented another remarkable development to content producers with “Creator Chat Room .. With this feature, manufacturers can create chat rooms with up to 300 users. In order to form a group, certain conditions (eg the number of followers and age) need to be provided.

On the other hand, the “Content Check Lite” tool, which analyzes whether the content will be shown in the “for you” flow, was also available. This tool helps content producers to determine the extent to which video, photos or stories are compatible with algorithms. Tiktok states that these analyzes will allow manufacturers to regulate their content before publishing their content. The more advanced version “Content Check” is still in the test phase.

Another feature that Tiktok presented simultaneously with these updates was digital welfare applications. This system, called “Well-Being Missions, includes tasks and information cards that encourage users to develop healthy social media habits. As users complete these tasks, they are awarded with badges. Tiktok is also preparing to offer additional tools to contribute to mental balance, such as screen control, breathing exercises and focus modes within the application.
