The global versions of Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro, which will meet users in Europe, were launched. Both smartphones have a processor that promises energy efficiency, a new artificial intelligence feature and a new feature to be used in communication in emergency situations. It is worth underlining once again that these two phones are different from the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro released in China.
The first difference between the global versions of Reno 12 and 12 Pro is the Dimensity 7300 Energy processor. Optimized by Oppo and MediaTek, this processor promises “extraordinary efficiency”. The processor in both phones is accompanied by 12 GB of RAM. Reno 12 comes with 256 GB and Reno 12 Pro comes with 512 GB RAM. While the RAM capacity can be increased by 12 GB with the virtual RAM feature, 1 TB can be added to the storage area with microSD card support.
Both phones have a 6.7-inch 120 Hz Full HD + resolution OLED screen. The maximum brightness level of this HDR10 and HDR10+ supported screen is 1200 nits. In the Pro model, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass protects the screen. Reno 12 is the first phone to use the new Gorilla Glass 7i glass.
Oppo Reno 12 Pro has more advanced cameras. The 50 megapixel main camera is accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle camera. The smartphone's two portrait cameras are described by Oppo as “Portrait Expert”. One of them is on the back of the phone and the other is on the front. 4K 30 fps video recording can be done with both cameras.
Although the same main and ultra-wide-angle cameras are used in the Oppo Reno 12, the telephoto camera is replaced by a 2-megapixel macro sensor. In this model, a 32 megapixel camera welcomes users on the front.
The phones come with AI-based features like AI Clear Face, which enhances facial features, hair and eyebrows. AI Best Face ensures that everyone in the shot has their eyes open. Oppo has also updated AI Eraser.
AI Toolbox, consisting of AI Write, AI Speak and AI Summary, which uses Google's Gemini model for text and speech, is also available on the phone. The recording app features an AI Registration Summary feature that creates text summaries and organizes them into notes highlighting to-do lists, times, locations, and other important information.
How much should you pay for Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro?
A 5000 mAh battery provides Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro with the energy they need. This battery has 80W SuperVOCC fast charging support. According to the information provided by Oppo, the battery charge rate increases to 49 percent at 1 percent in just 18 minutes. A full charge is completed in 46 minutes. However, it is worth noting that neither phone comes with a charging adapter in its box. IP65 resistance certification against water and dust is also among the common points of the two phones.
Oppo Reno 12 will be available on June 25 with a price tag of 500 euros. Reno 12 Pro is already on the shelves for 600 euros.
