Samsung will introduce its new flagship Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which will most likely be held on January 22, 2025. Latest news reveals that the entire series will be equipped exclusively with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This indicates a significant change in Samsung’s processor policy and means that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 + and Galaxy S25 Ultra models will switch to a single processor architecture. On the other hand, it is stated that production efficiency and performance priorities are behind this decision.
In the past years, it was known that Samsung preferred Exynos processors in some country markets, including Turkey, and Snapdragon chips in other regions. However, the failure of the Exynos 2500 processor to reach the expected efficiency level seems to have necessitated a complete switch to Snapdragon this year. The superior performance features of Snapdragon 8 Elite are also among the factors that support this decision. Qualcomm’s new generation chip has a powerful architecture that surpasses Apple’s A18 Pro processor in multi-core performance.
Snapdragon 8 Elite was developed by TSMC with 3nm manufacturing technology and features Qualcomm’s customized Orion CPU cores. Offering high energy efficiency and performance, this processor is also assertive on the graphics side. Adreno GPU has the capacity to run games smoothly even at the highest settings. Thus, the Galaxy S25 series comes with hardware that will satisfy users not only in terms of daily performance but also in terms of gaming experience.
Expected features for the Galaxy S25 Series
The Galaxy S25 series draws attention not only with its processor features but also with its design and camera innovations. Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with a design with more rounded lines, unlike the sharp corners seen in previous models. While it is stated that this model will offer a large screen of 6.86 inches, it is claimed that the Galaxy S25 will have a screen size of 6.16 inches and the Galaxy S25+ will have a screen size of 6.66 inches. All models will be presented to the user with AMOLED screens with high refresh rate.
On the camera side, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ models will have a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra wide angle and 10MP telephoto lens. Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, will be equipped with a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultra wide angle and two different telephoto lenses (3x and 5x optical zoom). This innovation is considered an important step, especially for users who prioritize photo and video performance. It is also stated that all models will have a 12MP front camera.
Battery and charging features are also noteworthy. While the Galaxy S25 model has a 4,000mAh battery capacity and 25W fast charging support, the Galaxy S25+ model will offer a 4,900mAh battery and 45W fast charging. The top model, Galaxy S25 Ultra, promises a longer usage time with its 5,000mAh battery capacity. Thus, Samsung’s new series will meet expectations not only in terms of performance but also energy efficiency.
As a result, the Galaxy S25 series is preparing to occupy an important position in the smartphone market with its single chip architecture, powerful hardware and innovative features. Especially the performance provided by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor seems to bring this series to the forefront of the competition. This new series of the company aims to offer a high-level response to users’ daily needs as well as gaming and multimedia experiences.
