At the end of 2024, Vivo launched the Y29 model with 5G support and 5500 mAh battery capacity. The company has now announced a second version of the same model that supports the LTE connection. The Vivo Y29 4G has some differences compared to the 5G model, and this new model is already available in the Bangladesh market.
The Vivo Y29 4G uses a 6.68 -inch LCD display like its predecessor. This screen has a resolution of 720p and 120 Hz renewal rate. The device screen is covered with Schott protective glass to improve the image experience. According to Vivo’s claim, this glass offers a 64 %higher fall resistance compared to previous generation coatings. Thus, the phone offers a more robust structure.
One of the biggest differences of this model is that it uses a LTE -supported chipset. The Vivo Y29 4G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor. Due to the fact that 5G infrastructure is not widespread in Bangladesh, the company has not provided 5G connection support in this model. In a region where users cannot fully use the new generation connection technologies, it is stated that it does not make sense to offer a device with 5G support, and that this model is only put on sale with LTE connection.
The memory options of the device are offered with three different combinations: 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and the highest option is 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage.
Vivo Y29 is behind a large camera island behind 4G. In this area, the main camera with a resolution of 50 MP, the auxiliary camera supporting the 2 MP Bokeh effect, a LED flash, dynamic color light and a IR Blastter. On the front, there is a 8 MP selfie camera.
This model stands out especially with its durability. Vivo says that the device has advanced impact protection and offers resistance to falls with MIL-STD-810H military resistance certificate. It is also stated that it has an IP64 certificate in terms of water and dust resistance. Vivo claims that the software and hardware performance of the device will offer a fluent experience for 50 months, which may probably be related to software updates.
Vivo Y29 comes out of the 4G box with FunTouch OS 15
The device comes out of the box with the Android 15 operating system and uses the company’s Funtoch OS 15 interface. Some artificial intelligence -supported photo editing features on the software side of the phone. It is also stated that it has a special technology that increases its wireless signal power. In addition, the “Circle To Search” feature, which was recently available on Premium smartphones, is also located in Vivo Y29 4G.
The battery capacity is increased by 6,500 mAh and the device offers 44W fast -wired charging support. However, Vivo Y29 4G does not have NFC, FM radio, 3.5 mm headphone jack or wireless charging support.
The phone is offered for sale with two color options, noble brown and elegant white. The starting price in Bangladesh is set as 19,999 as Bangladesh swap, which corresponds to about 5980 TL. No official explanation has yet been made about when the device will be offered to other markets.
