Tecno introduced the Camon 30 and 30 Pro models in February. The most obvious difference between the two models was that the Pro version had 5G support with the Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chip, while the standard model was limited to 4G connectivity with the Helio G99 Ultimate. The subsequent Tecno Camon 30S Pro was released as a 4G-supported alternative equipped with the Helio G100 chip.
The company has now added the Camon 30S model to this series. Camon 30S is a 4G supported phone powered by the Helio G100 processor, like the S Pro model. Users can choose from 6/128GB, 8/128GB and 8/256GB storage options. In addition, thanks to virtual RAM support, RAM capacity can be doubled.
Two important differences stand out compared to the S Pro model: Curved screen and IP rating. Camon 30S follows the same line, offering a 6.78-inch FHD + OLED curved screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. This screen can reach 1,300 nits of brightness in high brightness mode and has 2,160Hz PWM dimming technology. Additionally, it covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut with its 10-bit panel. Gorilla Glass was used to protect the screen, but version information was not shared.
The new phone offers water and dust resistance thanks to its IP53 certification. In addition, the touch screen can operate smoothly with wet fingers.
On the camera side, the device is equipped with a 1/1.56 inch Sony IMX896 sensor with 50 MP resolution. This sensor also offers OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) support. The rear camera is accompanied by a 2 MP depth sensor and dual LED flash. As an interesting detail, the front camera is also equipped with a dual LED flash. This camera on the screen has a 13MP sensor and lags behind the 50MP selfie camera on the S Pro model.
Camon 30S is equipped with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. However, the 3.5mm headphone jack in the previous model is not available in this model, which can be considered a step back.
Another important change was in the battery charging speed. While the 30S maintains its 5,000mAh battery capacity, the charging speed has been reduced to 33W. This means a significant slowdown compared to the Camon 30’s 70W fast charging support, making it the slowest charging model in this series.
Another interesting feature of the device is the ability to change color. For example, the Blue color option turns from light purple to dark blue when exposed to sunlight. There are also color options such as Nebula Purple, Celestial Black and Dawn Gold.
How much should you pay for Tecno Camon 30S?
Tecno Camon 30S is now on sale in Pakistan. Only the top model, the 8/256GB option, is listed in the online store and its price is set at 60 thousand Pakistani rupees (7406 TL). The option with the blue color change feature is not on the list, but the other three colors are on sale.
