Sundar Pichai: “2025 will be a critical turning point for Google”

Google CEO Sundar Pichai made an important statement about 2025, at a time when competition in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) is increasing. Speaking at a strategy meeting with the company’s senior executives on December 18, Pichai stated that Google is going through a “critical” period for 2025. He announced the company’s goal of strengthening its leadership position in the industry by accelerating work on the artificial intelligence model Gemini and similar technologies.

Although one of the striking details of the meeting was that senior managers wore sweaters with colorful and humorous designs for the year-end celebration, the message in the content was serious and clear. Pichai said, “We will reach a very important threshold in 2025. “We must move faster by internalizing the requirements of the current moment and ensure a strong position, especially on the artificial intelligence side,” he said, addressing the company’s employees. However, Pichai acknowledged that Google was lagging behind in some aspects at the current point of the industry, and particularly emphasized that the deficiencies in the field of artificial intelligence should be eliminated.

Gemini artificial intelligence model will be Google’s top priority in 2025

Gemini, Google’s leading product in the artificial intelligence ecosystem, will play a central role in the company’s future strategies. Gemini offers solutions for both consumers and companies, based on Google’s advanced artificial intelligence model. Sundar Pichai acknowledged that the Gemini application has gained strong momentum recently, but there are still gaps that need to be closed.

Pichai said, “We have a lot of work to do in 2025. “We must make good use of this opportunity to get ahead of our competitors and at the same time strengthen our leadership position,” he said. In this context, growing the use of artificial intelligence on the consumer side has been identified as Google’s biggest focus for 2025. In particular, scaling Gemini technology to individual users and businesses is seen as a key step for success.

In addition, Google’s artificial intelligence strategy will not be limited to software developments only. The company also aims to progress in critical areas such as infrastructure, hardware integration and adherence to ethical artificial intelligence principles. Sundar Pichai said, “The risks are high. However, we see it as our duty to unlock the potential of artificial intelligence for the benefit of both individuals and society,” he said, sharing the company’s long-term vision in this field.

Artificial intelligence stands out as one of the most innovative and competitive fields offered by technology giant companies in recent years. Companies such as Google, OpenAI, Microsoft and Meta; are trying to expand their dominance in the market through large models, chatbots and technological integrations. However, although Google has a well-established history in this field, it is facing significant competition from rivals such as Microsoft, which has recently attracted attention especially with OpenAI’s ChatGPT product.

In this context, 2025 will not only be a product launch year for Google; It also seems to be the scene of the company’s struggle to redefine its leadership position in the industry. Pichai gave a determined message to his employees, stating that Google will deepen the marks it left in 2024 with speed, innovation and strategic priorities in 2025.
