Nekki, SPINE – This is Gun Fu In the new trailer released for the main character Redline four different outfits showed. The video, which met the audience for the first time at the Galaxies Autumn Showcase, also includes a full parrot costume in addition to the war equipment. The production, which combines Sifu’s close combat approach with armed conflict, has a 2027 release date on its Steam page. The focus of the new post is on the character’s appearance options rather than the exact release date.
The developer’s official Steam announcement features the trailer as a teaser for four new Redline skins. The customization video shows different outfits on the same character. However, Nekki does not explain in this post whether the costumes will be offered for a separate fee or will be unlocked in-game. For this reason, appearance options should not be considered as an announced paid package.
SPINEis developing as a single-player action game from a third-person perspective. The player follows street artist Redline and his sentient combat implant Spine. The duo fight against an authoritarian AI rule while searching for Redline’s kidnapped brother. Thus, the character’s personal quest directly intersects with the management of Tensor City.
The game’s story description introduces Tensor City as a megacity built by artificial intelligence to protect against ecological collapse in the outside world. The city’s social points system determines people’s access to resources such as jobs and food. Additionally, the city is split between the shiny New City above and the worn-out Old City below. Redline’s story begins with his life in this subsection and a robbery gone wrong.
Nekki combines melee combat with gunfight
Nekki bases its fighting system on movements that feed on each other. After dodging a close-range shot, you can disarm the attacker and use his weapon. On the other hand, counterattacks and parries are combined with camera movements that change the cinematic look of the scene. The developer states that this camera layout maintains the player’s control over the character.
The expression “Gun Fu” used by the game describes the approach that combines gunfight and fight choreography in the same scene. However, the fluency in the trailer should not be presented as a performance test that extends to the entire game. The Steam page shows that the production is not on sale and there are no player reviews. The details we see at this stage come from the developer’s introductions and the official game description.
The outfit trailer highlights Redline’s story of saving his brother while changing the character’s appearance. Nekki also notes that what he shows is only a fraction of the options in the game. You can add the production to your wishlist on Steam. The store page gives the release schedule as 2027 for now, but does not specify an exact date.
