Sony to make PS5 Slim more eye-catching with new Chroma colors

Sony is set to release “Chroma” console covers for the PS5 Slim in pearl, purple, and teal. If a flashy console isn’t enough, you’ll also be able to purchase new DualSense controllers that match those colors.

Chroma console covers will retail for $64.99, while DualSense controllers will retail for $79.99. Sony will release the Chroma pearl and purple accessories on November 7, with the teal color coming on January 23, 2025. The new colors look impressive, but they may be a bit more intense than the PS5 Slim’s blue, red, or gray sleekness.

You’ll be able to pre-order the covers and controllers in this collection starting October 3 in the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Sony is also opening pre-orders for the 30th Anniversary PS5 and PS5 Pro, decked out in the colors of the original 1995 PlayStation, on September 26. No word yet on whether these throwback gray covers will be sold separately, though.

Sony PS5 Slim Chroma color options increase

Sony’s new Chroma color options stand out as an eye-catching option, especially for those who want to make their gaming station more stylish and vibrant. Colors such as pearl, purple and cyan are offered as an alternative to the classic blue, red or gray designs of the standard PS5 Slim. These colors can be interesting, especially for users who want to increase their personal touch in their gaming rooms.

As Sony continues to diversify its gaming accessories market, these new Chroma covers and DualSense controllers appeal to the aesthetic tastes of console users. The elegance added to the iconic design of the PlayStation 5 with these bright color options enhances the console experience not only in terms of performance but also in terms of visuals.

On the other hand, the 30th Anniversary PS5 and PS5 Pro models offer an opportunity for nostalgia lovers. These models, which carry the classic gray colors of the first PlayStation, are a nod to the console’s history. However, it remains unclear whether these covers will be sold separately.
