SNAP will present smaller and light new Glasses in 2026

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel made the expected statement in the field of augmented reality. Speaking at the Augmented World Expo in California, Spiegel announced a new Argargamy model to be released in 2026. It was stated that this new model, which will be called “Specs ,, will have a much smaller and lighter design than previous versions. With this statement, SNAP showed that it was moving towards user -friendly solutions during the hardware development process.

The company’s current fifth generation AR glasses are offered only to developers. Those who want to use this model should be registered in a monthly $ 99 subscription plan, which corresponds to $ 1,200 annually. However, the new Specs model will be directly for the general user audience. In this respect, the device is expected to have a wider access.

Developers’ existing SNAP argens will be able to work with new glasses

Spiegel preferred to keep the technical details of the new glasses hidden. However, Snap’s blog post reveals that artificial intelligence will be at the center of this new device. The company states that existing devices and interfaces are insufficient to reflect the potential of artificial intelligence. At this point, Snap wants to move AI technology to the physical world and give the user direct experience.

From Snap’s perspective, chat robots will be replaced by more inclusive and interactive experiences. These new experiences, which will be presented through Ar Glasses, will not only provide information, but will also facilitate users to connect with the environment. In this way, both learning and entertainment will be intertwined. These experiences are expected to become attractive especially for the younger user.

The current Spectacles model has some artificial intelligence -supported features. These features became possible thanks to the cooperation of SNAP with OpenAI. According to the company’s statement, developers design new multimodal lenses and produce applications that can detect the environment through cameras. Scenarios such as recipe creating, instant translation or foreign exchange translation are just some of these experiences.

In addition, Snap goes to a new integration with Google. This integration will allow developers to develop richer intelligence applications through Spectacles. Thus, Ar glasses will not only become a screen, but also a smart tool that interacts with the environment. This approach, which is based on the user’s perspective, makes content experience more intuitive.

According to Evan Spiegel, all lens content prepared by developers today will be fully compatible with the new Specs model. This means that the new device will have a rich content pool as soon as it is released. Users will not encounter an empty page in terms of experience when they first access the device. This preliminary preparation stands out as an important detail that supports the integrity of the hardware-writing.

Although the price of the new glasses is not yet clear, Snap is expected to adopt a more accessible approach. It is estimated that the high pricing strategy will not be sustainable in a device targeting non -developing users. In this respect, it is thought that Specs will be appropriate for the adoption of a wide audience. Although the company remains silent, expectations are shaped in the direction of a more economical model.

This new glasses, which SNAP will offer in 2026, promises significant changes in terms of hardware portability and ease of use. The fact that the design is smaller and lighter will facilitate the integration of daily life. Users, glasses will constantly tend to wear the long term will be clear. But it is clearly seen that Snap has taken brave steps.
