Snap Spectacles Ar, updated with virtual keyboard and gps support

SNAP announced new features for the fifth generation Spectacles glasses with augmented reality (AR). The glasses, which have passed six months since their promotion, can now offer location -based experiences using GPS data. With the new update, users will be able to benefit from GPS data for various functions such as navigation and multiplayer games. However, the developed hand tracking system and virtual keyboard support allows users to enter text without removing a smart phone.

Snap’s new update allows Spectacles glasses to offer more advanced AR experiences using GPS, GNSS and compass data. In this context, the company also shared some new Lens (Term Terim used by Snap for bee effects). Developed by Utopia Labs, Navigatar creates arrows that help users towards a specific goal. On the other hand, another lens called Path Pioneer can identify hiking routes and make activities such as city tours, museum trips or art gallery visits more interactive.

Niantic de Spectacles took advantage of the location -based features of the glasses and added new multiplayer skills to Peridot Beyond. Users can now see both their DOT characters and their friends’ characters in the same game session and interact. In addition, developers will be able to encourage players to return to the game by adding leadership tables to AR games.

Another important innovation announced by Snap is the fact that Spectacles has a full -function virtual keyboard. This keyboard has both letters and numbers layout and benefits from advanced hand tracking technology. Snap says that it improves the hand monitoring system to perceive hand gestures more accurately and reduces false positive perceptions. In addition, a new “holding” movement has been added. This movement can be used in various lens experiences and the system can now understand whether the user holds a smartphone.

New generation Snap Spectacles is currently sold to developers

Nevertheless, it is seen that Snap has not yet offered the Spectacles Ar model with these new features to the general consumer. Fifth generation Spectacles glasses are still presented only to developers and can be accessed by the rental model instead of purchasing. Glasses with a monthly rental fee of $ 99 can be used with a commitment for at least one year. In addition, the battery time is limited to only 45 minutes, as a significant restriction for daily use.

Although it remains unclear whether SNAP will present its Glasses to a wider audience, the company’s efforts to improve AR technologies continue. Innovations such as GPS integration, virtual keyboard and advanced hand tracking indicate that future augmented reality glasses may become more practical and user -friendly. Especially for game developers and content producers, how to evaluate these new functions continues to be a matter of curiosity.
