Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Pro model may not be among its development plans

Information about the Galaxy S series prepared by Samsung for 2026 has begun to take shape again. Many sources previously suggested that the successor to the Galaxy S25 would come under the name “Galaxy S26 Pro”. In fact, this claim was made so often that there was almost an air of certainty about the model name. Now a completely opposite rumor has emerged.

New information that emerges claims that a model called Galaxy S26 Pro was not included in Samsung’s product plans at all. So the direct successor to the Galaxy S25 will simply be called “Galaxy S26”. Moreover, the classic triple structure of the Galaxy S series seems to be preserved. S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra models will appear on the stage together again. Considering all these developments, it can be said that Samsung maintains its current and clear model setup.

Galaxy S26 Pro would replace the S26+

On the other hand, some claims were made a while ago that the S26+ model would be canceled and replaced by the Galaxy S26 Edge. This rumor quickly found wide coverage in the technology press. However, new information points to the opposite of these claims. While the S26+ model continues its development process, it is stated that the Edge variant has been discontinued. The reason for this cancellation is that Edge-style models have not been able to reach the desired sales figures recently.

Samsung’s rapid abandonment of the Edge model also calls into question what direction the company is seeking in its flagship strategies. Although these decisions seem to be based on technical reasons, it is clear that they cause some confusion in the public. Especially the constant change of model names directly affects the trust in the brand. In such segments where technology users expect consistency, constantly changing plans are not welcomed. However, Samsung has so far refrained from commenting on this issue.

Some of the rumors in question are based on information coming directly from the production line. But the other part is based mostly on the predictions of analysts in the sector. This becomes another factor that makes one question how reliable the information circulating is. However, the fact that the rumors point in the same direction strengthens the claim that the Galaxy S26 Pro was never developed. Based on this, it is thought that the name S26 Pro is just an assumption.

Technical details about the Galaxy S26 are also slowly taking shape. It is stated that the device will work with Samsung’s own developed Exynos 2600 processor in many markets. This chipset is expected to stand out with its energy efficiency as well as performance increase. Despite everything, it is already a matter of curiosity how this processor will perform against Snapdragon alternatives. At this point, how Samsung will distribute its regional processors will also be decisive.

Besides this, no major changes are expected in the camera features. It is stated that the main camera module in the Galaxy S25 will be largely preserved. This indicates that the S26 will not offer revolutionary innovations in imaging. However, the company is likely to make some improvements on the software side. Because even though the hardware remains the same, software optimizations can seriously affect the experience.

There is a clearer development on the battery capacity side. It is claimed that the new Galaxy S26 model will come with a 4,300 mAh battery. This means a significant increase compared to the 4,000 mAh capacity in the previous model. This increase is expected to make a noticeable contribution to the user in terms of daily usage time. Battery life continues to be one of the most sensitive points, especially for mobile users.

There is no serious change on the design side. It is claimed that the Galaxy S26 will follow a similar line to the S25 in general terms. However, it is thought that some fine adjustments can be made to the material quality. It would not be surprising if Samsung made some minor revisions, especially on the durability side. Such details can directly affect the feeling of the device in daily use.

In light of all this information, it seems that Samsung has chosen to switch to a clearer and simpler model structure in the Galaxy S series. The fact that a model like the S26 Pro has never existed suggests that the complex variant structure of the previous period has now been abandoned. Despite this, the competitiveness of the models to be launched will largely depend on the balance of technical performance and price. These questions are expected to be answered more clearly when official statements come about the S26 series, which is expected to be introduced in the first quarter of 2026.
