Samsung One UI 7 brings a brand new approach to notifications

Samsung is preparing to launch its new Android 15-based interface, One UI 7, in January 2025. It is stated that this new update will be introduced especially with the Galaxy S25 series. However, One UI 7 draws attention not only with its design and performance improvements, but also with its innovative features that can transform the user experience. This interface, which is available for testing by users with its beta version, promises a big change in notification management.

The most striking innovation of the new interface is the feature called “Filter Notifications”. Providing a solution to notification confusion, this tool allows notifications to be classified according to their importance. Notifications are divided into two groups: Priority notifications and less important ones. Priority notifications attract the user’s attention; others lurk quietly in the background. Thus, the notification panel becomes much more organized.

How will the Filter Notifications feature work?

The Filter Notifications feature offers three different filtering options. Old notifications, application notifications running in the background and minimized notifications can be easily removed. These filtered notifications do not disappear completely; It’s hidden away by a small “X more notifications” statement at the bottom of the panel. By touching this area, users can access the details whenever they want. This feature prevents important notifications from being overlooked and removes unnecessary ones from the panel.

In addition, this innovation offered by Samsung is similar to the artificial intelligence-supported notification summarization system introduced by Apple in iOS 18. On the other hand, Samsung’s approach gives users more control. The ability to filter notifications manually is a step forward in personalizing the user experience.

With One UI 7, Samsung offers major changes not only in notification management but also in the overall user experience. Design innovations such as vertical application drawer, separate notification and quick settings panels are among the other prominent details of this update. In addition, the new feature called “Now Bar” makes it possible to access real-time application data from the lock screen. These developments are considered an important step in terms of both functionality and design.

One UI 7, currently available in beta version for the Galaxy S24 series, will be offered as a stable version in January, based on the feedback. This new interface from Samsung aims to make the overall user experience more fluid and organized while making notification management easier. This update, which Samsung has equipped with innovative features, seems to allow users to use their phones more efficiently and pleasantly.

As a result, features such as Filter Notifications offered by One UI 7 will prevent users from drowning in heavy notification traffic, while allowing them to focus their attention on more important issues. This step by Samsung is of great importance in terms of providing effective solutions to the basic problems faced by modern users.
