Samsung Notes-like handwriting features coming to Google Keep

By adding a new handwriting support to Google Keep, the note-taking application it offers for Android users, Google aims to catch up with its competitors such as Samsung Notes in this field. While Samsung Notes stands out as an application that offers advanced features especially for Galaxy users, Google Keep is known for its simpler interface and practical note-taking options. However, with the new updates that Google is working on, Keep will become suitable not only for lists or short notes, but also for those who want to add handwritten notes and draw.

New features and increased functionality in Google Keep

The new version of Google Keep will allow Android users to take handwritten notes, draw and add screenshots directly to notes, with stylus support. With this update, users will be able to customize their writings with different pen options and color settings. It is also planned to expand text formatting features in the Keep application. Options such as adding titles, bold or italic text will be available in the current version of Google Keep.

Although Google Keep still remains a simpler alternative compared to the more comprehensive features offered by Samsung Notes, the Google team is adding new functions to the application that expand its possibilities. Samsung Notes, on the other hand, offers its users more advanced options such as S Pen support, editing on PDF and solving mathematical equations. On the other hand, thanks to Keep’s strong integration with Google Drive and other Google services, users can easily sync and share their notes. This makes Google Keep advantageous for users looking for a simple but functional option.

With new updates, innovations are also coming to the web version of Keep. In this version, where handwritten notes can be viewed, it will be possible to edit existing notes, although it is not possible to create handwritten notes on the web. Additionally, with Android 15, the Keep application can be set as the default note-taking tool and the option to quickly take notes from the lock screen will be available.
