As of July 2025, Samsung has released its new Flipshot feature through Good Lock application, which offers a personalizable selfie experience on the cover screen. This feature will only be valid for the Galaxy Z Flip models and will allow mirrored users to add short messages and graphics to the cover screen.
Flipshot has been available as part of Samsung’s Multistar module, which is accessible via the Galaxy Store. With the update, the multistar module was upgraded to version 10.0.23, and thanks to this version, users can show text or visual on the cover screen during the mirrored selfie. This new feature was developed especially for use during the mirrored selfie shooting, because the camera viewfinder is not on the cover screen when the Flipshot is active. For this reason, it is stated that the feature appeals to those who want to take photos in front of the mirror. The update works with one UI 8 version and can be used in Galaxy Z Flip models.
Flipshot’s personalization options allow users to simply differentiate the selfie experience. A short sentence added to the cover screen or a simple visual adds a more fun atmosphere to photo shoots. However, this feature is limited to the mirrored selfie and cannot be used for standard selfie shooting. In addition, due to the small structure of the cover screen, the old model Galaxy Z Flip devices remain slightly narrower. However, Flipshot functionality offers a wider use in models with larger cover display like Z Flip 6.
